Good service with some tasty food. Definitely a place to gather with friends for a special occassion. The only thing I can complain about is that the waitress who brought our wine opened it without showing it to us first. It wasn’t until she walked away and we realized it wasn’t even the right wine that we ordered. It was still delicious, but not what we asked for. Calamari was good and so was the pasta. Kids dessert comes in a cute ice cream cup.
Food: absolutely gorgeous. The presentation, the taste, simply wonderful. Probably one of the best restaurant in terms of quality and taste of food. The lemon prawns (can’t remember what it was in italian, sorry) MUST TRY. Service: Good. Polite servers and happy with the service :) Atmosphere: we were tourists in Edinburgh and also happen to visit place for my birthday. And I requested nice window seats but was seated right next to ladies bathrooms Did see loads of other empty seats but ok. 🤷🏻♀️
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gusto Italian and must say that it was a delightful experience. The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was exceptional - attentive and friendly without being intrusive. As for the food, I ordered the 3 meat lasagna and a brownie dessert, and they both exceeded my expectations. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the lasagna was perfectly cooked with a mouth-watering blend of savory meats. The only minor critique I have is that the portions were on the smaller side, but this was more than made up for by the quality of the food and service. Overall, I highly recommend Gusto Italian for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
Food was good, service was awful. Took one hour 45 to be served two pizzas and a kid’s dessert. We were the first ones in the restaurant at 5pm, one couple came in after us, were served 3 courses and still managed to leave 30 mins before us. Then the bill came and it was over charged by £16. I complained and was barely offered an apology. I’m loathe to complain or put up a bad review, but it was pretty disappointing.
Beautiful food, staff were so nice, we were watching a show and asked for the theatre menu which is a set price for a two course or three course, well worth it. The toilets were dirty with two cubicles closed but we did mention it and it was cleaned straight away.
Loved it! The restaurant has a unique vibe where you can go as a couple, friends, family and still find the right atmosphere for you. Food was delicious, staff was friendly and professional. Definitely would recommend!
Nice Saturday afternoon for lunch and catch up with family. I would advise booking as was very busy. Great extensive menu, lovely atmosphere inside, our waitress was lovely, friendly and efficient. Now to the food :) I had the stuffed pepper that was lovely although I felt could have been cooked that wee bit longer. The pasta was ok, although over cooked. I would go back and try something different. Reasonable priced and coffee (flat white) was OK if a little strong

Perhaps understandably due to it being Valentine’s Day when we went, the service did feel quite rushed. Regardless, staff were friendly and we would recommend this lovely restaurant!

Booking in advance is essential to secure a spot. The food was a highlight. The meatballs left us saying “wow.” Portions were generous, ensuring we left satisfied and content. Great option for a quick lunch or dinner date! The food was delicious, and the server was recommending dishes to try. Food was quick on the table. Dough balls with garlic butter are to die for!!! And the pasta was cooked to perfection! I would recommend booking a table in advance and maybe specify where you want to sit as we didn't book, the restaurant was quite busy even at 3 pm and the only table they had was right next to stairs to toilets so we had constantly people walking around us and bumping into our chairs. Other than that I would recommend this restaurant!!
This was very disappointing, the beef was overcooked, the chicken had some blood, the potatoes were dry. The first time I visited Gusto I had bad experience and thought I will give them a second chance, I am not interested in visiting again and I wouldn’t recommend it to others. The atmosphere was nice, but even as half price on the board it was just below average, I appreciate I might’ve been very unlucky but for someone that eats out a lot, two out of two is too much of just coincidence.

Enjoyed the family style dinner for a Birthday Celebration, every bite of the food was AMAZING! Both salads were delicious, but the Caesar was the favorite. We paired the salads with some simple appetizers - Meatballs & Mozzarella sticks. For our main dishes we selected Spaghetti & Meatballs, Fettuccine Alfredo w/ chicken, Shrimp Scampi & Chicken Parmigiana, all family favorites! And to end the night with a treat, Chocolate Cake & Crème Brûlée. The service was spot on, our waitress was extremely attentive and very friendly to our requests… and we left with so many extras it made for another meal. Will definitely do this again!!

The food and drinks here were amazing! I really enjoyed my espresso martini and pasta. The salad, and pumpkin dish was also a delight. We sat right on the counter overlooking the cooks. It was a great place to sit, because you can see all the food that is being made and coming out. I even ordered a dish that I saw, because it inspired me that I wanted to try it.

I cannot say enough about our experience here. The food and drinks were amazing. The best apple martini I’ve had. We had the rigatoni with sausage and it was delicious. It is definitely different - family style dining but we loved it. The service is outstanding and not rushed despite them being extremely busy. Highly recommend eating here when you’re in NY!

It's all about Italian cuisine and there is good-looking pizza, but the true focus is the pasta! Most yummy pasta I've ever had in any restaurant! The atmosphere is so good too - really social and vibrant, with such comfortable seating. Sadly, they are seriously lacking in customer service, relying on QR code (covid-era) type service and completely forgetting about your table and your orders. Vegetarian options: All of the pasta is customisable - you choose what type of pasta and what sauce, etc - and I would even go so far as to say that the vegetarian options are probably better than the meat ones! I got the chicken alfredo tagliatelle and the chicken was so dry and cheap-tasting... Any next visit, I will go for the vegetarian options! Kid-friendliness: Kids would love the food, but it's quite pricey, so that's up to you. Each single pasta portion is like £12-15.
