In many respects our dealings with SolarFrame have been a game of two halves before and after construction of our near £40k garden studio. Positives: schedule was adhered to and everyone turned up when they said they would. Overall standards appear to be average to good. However, that’s where the good stuff ends. Construction was finished in April. The week after I noticed scratches in the bifold door frames and the plinth surrounding the door frame was already showing signs of flex with the silicone joints separating. Despite much promise of after sales care you are on your own. We had contractors in afterwards to lay a patio and they also pointed out the rear guttering had also been fitted incorrectly. They fixed the loose plinth for us. Despite many promises over the last few months customer service seems to be someone answering a phone and promising to resolve issues and then nothing happens. On my third chasing of the issues in May we got as far as a phone call promising a remediation visit that would be confirmed. As you may guess by now, no confirmation and no visit. The quality of the product is great. Craftsmanship of installers a little less and zero after sales care. If you can live with it go for it. But I can’t recommend SolarFrame as a company to do business with. The lack of after sales care has cost them approx £60k of further work for another project we had in mind. Their loss. Update: within 30 mins of this review going online I had a call from Adam at the company. An apology and two appointments to remedy the outstanding issues within 24 hours. The second happening as I type this. I’m told the manager dealing with my issues had gone on long term sick leave. It does beg questions of the company’s procedures and processes for such issues. Clearly from my and other people’s experience the company needs to reflect on this and its overall communication issues, specifically in after sales care. After all, true customer service is exposed and demonstrated when things haven’t gone well much more than when everything is fine. I’ve updated my rating based on the expediency received since the review.

My extension is fabulous! The initial visit for the quote was helpful and detailed but I wasn't under any pressure to place an order. Having SolarFrame project manage everything gave me peace of mind, I was kept informed all the way along. The trades people were all very polite and professional throughout and the quality of the work is obvious. From start to finish the build took less than 5 weeks. I thoroughly recommend SolarFrame to anyone thinking of undertaking a similar project. It really has enhanced my living space.

4.8 out of 5 stars Job number 10983 Sales : 4 stars Gareth, the sales consulant took the time to go through what I was trying to acheive, there was no hard upsell and I felt free to make my own choices. There was an large discount if I booked on the day due to a production slot becoming available, the cynic in me thought this was a sales tactic but when I said I wasn't prepared to make a decision on the day it was accepted. I did get a few phone calls over the following days from the sales manager, but it wasn't excessive and again I didn't feel pressured to make a decision on the call there and then. From the initial consultation there were three things that I wanted out of new windows, first was triple glazing for the heating efficiency, second was discrete trickle vents and third was to maintain the size of the glass. Triple Glazing : 5 stars So far I am very impressed, the noise reduction was instant and very noticeable, obviously will have to wait for the winter months to see if it makes a difference but it is looking promising. Trickle Vents : 5 stars Solarframe were the only firm who said that they could do the discrete type and again I was very impressed with how they've turned out, with both the external and internal view looking more discrete than the hoods. Glass Pane : 2 stars I was warned going to flush fit would result in a big reduction on the fixed panes but that the openers would have minimal difference. That said, the openers are around 18% smaller than the previous windows and it was noticeable as soon as the first window was fitted. I did report this and I got a fairly standard response about how the windows are manufactured, which I think missed the point I was more frustrated at being assured there would be minimal difference. Installation : 5 stars It was a smooth experience, John & Archie worked quickly, kept me informed of what they were doing and ensured I was happy with some of the decorative aspects of the install. They cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day, went round the finished windows and touched up any marks with a paint pen and decorative damage inside was minimal and only requires me to touch up with paint. Product : 5 stars The quality is visible and you can feel the sturdiness in the windows on opening and closing. I was left the paint pen to touch up any other marks I might find or for future if any scuffs occur during cleaning. The two imporant questions; Would I reccomend them? Yes Would I personally use them again? Yes

Reviews Summary

The overall sentiment toward SolarFrame’s home improvement and window installation service is broadly positive, with multiple reviewers highlighting quality outcomes, reliable scheduling, and professional teams. Standout comments include punctuality of workers and clear project coordination, but criticisms emerge around after-sales care in some instances. Notably, one customer’s negative experience with aftercare and communication was partly resolved quickly after their feedback became public, which signals some responsiveness but also highlights areas in need of improvement.

Frequent themes include strong satisfaction with the quality and efficiency of builds—from conservatories and garden studios to window installations. Customers routinely name team members and value polite conduct, daily updates, and tidy workspaces. The operational process, including project management and adherence to schedules, is consistently praised. However, shortcomings with customer service post-project completion are noted by a few, especially regarding delayed issue resolution and communication gaps.

Overall, SolarFrame is regarded as a reputable choice for window installations and related home improvement projects, particularly throughout its likely UK service area. Repeat business and referrals suggest dependable delivery and workmanship. Persistent concerns about after-sales support and occasional communication lapses indicate an area for SolarFrame’s reputation to improve, but most feedback remains strongly positive regarding the company’s project execution and staff professionalism.
