DO NOT USE SAFELITE. I only give one star because it won’t let me give NO STARS. I was completely ripped off. And from other reviews it looks like this is typical for Safelite. In November I payed $995 to have my windshield replaced. A huge rock from a truck violating OSHA compliance hit my windshield when I was driving on a highway. We took a picture of the number on the truck and even tried to contact them first but no one answered. I am a second-grade teacher and my Progressive auto insurance uses Safelite so I trusted them and loved the lifetime warranty and that they would do the replacement in my school parking lot during the school day. I didn’t like the price and my deductible was $1000 but the lifetime warranty gave me confidence. I even knew of other glass replacements that wouldn’t have cost more than $250 even with labor. Not more than four months later, in February, I notice a long crack across my drivers side of the windshield. I looked to see if a rock had hit and at first look I didn’t see any impact. I called Safelite and the phone representative from Ohio (I’m in Texas) was so helpful and helped make an appointment on a Saturday when I wasn’t teaching. At the Safelite location they told me there was a tiny mark that negated my warranty. I have NEVER had my windshield break before the time in November and I would think that quality glass would take more than a pin-head size mark to cause the almost two foot long crack across my windshield. I am so disappointed. The gentlemen at the location were rude and curt and offered me no other solution making me think this happens often. I have reached out directly to Safelite and my insurance broker to see if this can be rectified and I can remove this review. Otherwise this is a scam company and they should be ashamed of themselves.
