Excellent customer service from GoFibre. We had an emergency (no fault of GF) and they responded in double fast time - sent an engineer the very next day, a nice young man arrived and all went smooth, he got back us back up and running in no time. Thanks GoFibre, we appreciate it.

First came across this company when they were advertising on my local area in the Scottish borders, thought I'd give them a try and see if their worth it. Initial experience was good though signal and speed did drop from time to time, but gave the benefit of the doubt due to being new. Then an unfortunate incident where I was attacked in my own home, forced me to move to a new home where I wasn't connected to them so had to cancel the contract early and was told would have to pay the full amount upfront, given the costs of moving and into a private rent property that had to take priority on the bill front, and it comes to today they took the payment of over £400 without permission and when the direct debit was cancelled. Contacted them and was told sorry theirs nothing we can do yet they've taken money when I had priority bills to be paid also. And also told when I cancelled I could get a payment plan to help ease the cost. But then today I was told that's not their policy. So to sum up, they have little interest in the situation of a customer who was in a vulnerable position and unable to pay them immediately and just take payments anyway. Service wasn't satisfactory and the speeds I received were quick when they worked but other times it didn't work already 5 separate occasions I had to write support tickets to get things sorted. Absolutely don't recommend this broadband provider no matter how much they sing and dance about rolling out full fibre to all.

Reviews Summary

Overall, customer sentiment towards GoFibre broadband service is mixed, with several positive experiences reported around efficient installation, responsive staff, and clear communication. Reviewers mention helpful engineers, positive interactions with customer service agents like Isabella and Cheryl, and generally smooth processes. However, negative feedback focuses on connection reliability, abrupt cancellations, payment issues, and aggressive sales tactics, which have led to frustration and some customers expressly advising against the service.

The most frequent positive themes include polite, attentive engineers, quick installation, effective aftercare, and customer service that handles issues professionally. Customers in the Scottish Borders and towns such as Jedburgh specifically refer to ease of switching contracts, assistance for vulnerable users, and satisfaction with staff demeanor. Critical themes include repeated connection drops, payment disputes during contract terminations, lack of proactive notification about delays, and dissatisfaction with misleading sales practices.

In summary, GoFibre is perceived as a broadband provider that often delivers responsive service and good customer handling across Scotland, with staff professionalism noted as a strength. Nonetheless, consistency in connection, billing transparency, and communication during disruptions are cited as areas needing improvement, which impacts trust among some users in the region.
