Utterly brilliant. The problem with reviews is that people usually post when there's a problem. Reliability can be easily overlooked or taken for granted. I confess there was a shaky start in 2023 with delays and confusion (I ended up with two accounts before the 'live' one got deleted...) - but the installation was immaculate and the internet speed unimaginable. I live in a rural village where 20mbps might happen on a good day (with about 3mbps upload speed) - and suddenly I was getting well over 500 mbps! Working from home, with an Internet speed about 10x fastest than the head office? Uploading a 1gb file in less than 2 seconds? Seriously, it's surprising what you can get used to: Two years of reliable service and no price rises. Thank you to County Broadband.

Fine when it works. But service invariably fails (on their end) at night or on weekends when they're closed. Then you can be left without service for days as they're so slow to resolve issues. How they still don't have any support outside office hours when THEIR service fails is unforgivable, especially in rural areas like ours with no phone signal either. And you're stuck with them because they got the government license. Worst ISP ever.

Terrible service from County Broadband - have lost Internet connection due to network outage for two whole days in the past month. Second time today 21 March 2025 in CO9 area with no internet since 12 midday. I called to report the issue and they said they would get back to me within an hour. Now it's 16:30 nobody got back to me. The last time this happened, same thing, had no Internet for the entire day, on a Sunday, and NOBODY to talk to to communicate the issue or time since it was a weekend, didn't receive any updates at all. Just got hold of an advisor who could barely speak basic English and communicate what the problem is. Still no answers as to when the Internet would be back. Extremely unhappy customer and considering leaving due to this awful service and lack of customer service and communication.

Reviews Summary

The overall sentiment regarding County Broadband’s internet service is decidedly negative, based on recurring issues and explicit dissatisfaction expressed by reviewers. While some note high-speed connectivity and a smoothly executed installation, most feedback centers on repeated failures in customer support, unresolved outages, and billing problems. Even reviews with positive technical experiences temper their praise with mention of prior service difficulties or administrative confusion.

Common themes include unreliable connectivity, lack of support outside business hours, protracted delays during setup, and consistent struggles with customer service responsiveness. Accounts of ignored communications, difficulty cancelling contracts, and unresolved network faults suggest ongoing operational and support challenges. A few reviewers cite professionalism or a successful outcome after long waits, but these are exceptions to broader frustrations experienced in rural areas where alternatives may be limited.

In summary, County Broadband’s reputation in the UK is marred by service reliability problems and what many perceive as a lack of customer-centric processes. Persistent complaints about delayed support and inadequate resolution of technical and administrative issues diminish trust, with very few repeat or strongly positive endorsements appearing in recent feedback.

Frequently Asked Questions About County Broadband

What can I expect regarding County Broadband’s customer support hours?

Customer support is available only during standard office hours. Reviews indicate that service failures occurring at night or on weekends may remain unresolved until support staff are available, potentially leaving customers without service for an extended period.

Are there any recurring complaints about billing or contract cancellation?

Yes. Several reviewers report issues with continued charges after cancellation, ignored requests to end service, and delays in refund or direct debit processing. Customers are advised to keep careful records of all communications.

How long does it take to be connected once an order is placed?

The timeline for installation can vary. Some customers report significant delays, while others experience a relatively prompt setup. Delays may stem from logistical complexity, feasibility studies, or capacity constraints, especially in rural locations.
