The actual mystery is how old the building is. Its modern architecture and amenities keep it still stylish and modern. I loved its stunning architecture; it felt incredibly luxurious; from the ceilings to the carpets, the hotel had a sense of detailed richness and architectural grace. The rooms were clean, and room service was quick. The staff has been welcoming and polite And provided complimentary water bottles, which was a nice gesture. I had two different bookings during my five-day stay because I extended my visit, lol. I couldn't get enough of this place! I have no complaints about the Rooms, except the mirrors had an odd oil print design, which I found strange. One of my rooms had a partial downtown view and was slightly bigger with a mini fridge than the single bedroom. I didn't hit the pool during my stay, but I did take a stroll to check out the amenities, and they're pretty sweet. I skipped to try breakfast based on some reviews, but there are plenty of excellent dining options, shops, salons, and food trucks within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel. It looks just as amazing in person as in most famous music videos and movies. Some areas, like the ballroom, were restricted, but overall, it was a fantastic stay. Would recommend.
Rooms: Clean and the room service is quick.
Safety: safety can sometimes feel a bit iffy coz of the homeless population here in downtown, but overall, it feels safer than many other cities I've visited.
Night walks are not at all recommended.
Walkability: Suitable for walking around. I found many cool spots to eat, shop during my free time in the evenings and mornings. Mornings were my favorite.
Plus, having the metro there made it easy to visit most places. The only downside is homeless situation felt a bit sketchy sometimes. But honestly, despite that, I'd still give this area a big thumbs up for walkability. LA vibes between those buildings! Might feel unsafe to walk during nights!
Food & drinks: There's this Mexican food truck that is outside the hotel in the evenings to early mornings. It's cheap and delicious. And I tried 71above, which has become my favorite place, where you can see the entire LA city. Starbucks and Pitchoun are just below the hotel from the other side of the building for morning book readings and coffee. Tbh, there are a ton of food options around here, from budget-friendly to high-end joints.
