This is some text inside of a div block.
No contact at all, I have sent emails and messages and nothing back. Worth contacting the regulator if your claims are not being dealt with.

It is 42 days since I started a claim with this company (who outsource the insurance to another company registered in Poland). No reply for the last 2 weeks. My accident involved no other car, and no injury - the most simple that could be dealt with.

Had been with iCarHire Insurance for their Excess Annual coverage. I didn't ever have to make a claim, but it's about piece of mind, in case you need protection from some exorbitant excess charge from a shady rental agent. The policy is very clear - as you'd expect, they cover hire cars out on hire agreements. They have a maximum continuous hire policy of just 64 days within the annual policy. However, when I contacted to confirm they were happy with me signing up to a hire agreement that rolls over monthly (monthly agreements, each <64 days), and even though I would only be signing up for 2 months (cumulatively, less than 64 days), they said No. They said that would be a lease; but when challenged and shown that it's definitively not a lease, they changed their position and said it's a subscription, not a "hire". However, the agreement with the hire company is literally under Hire contract Ts&Cs - bold letters at the top of the agreement. Everything about the agreement is a normal hire; and I would note that their policy wording doesn't even have a view on the term "subscription". They have not been able to cite any part of their policy that justifies their position; they have just decided to deem my hire agreement "not a hire". So in closing, if this is the type of game they will play with me before I've even had to make a claim, I wouldn't be counting on them if I did need to make a claim. I have been trying to formally raise a complaint. iCarHire say the complaint has to go through the underwriters (who had been promptly replying to say "No, it's not a hire"), but it seems they're substantially slower at dealing with formal complaints. Financial Ombudsman process it will be...

Reviews Summary

Overall, sentiment toward iCarHireInsurance’s car hire insurance services is negative, as reflected in recurring reports of poor communication, slow claims processing, and limited customer support. Reviewers consistently note difficulty receiving responses via email or phone, and several describe claims being left unresolved for weeks. A notable grievance is the company's reliance on third-party underwriters, which customers say leads to service delays and confusion over responsibilities.

Key themes include delayed claim settlements, requests for repeated or extra documentation, lack of transparency about coverage, and inconsistent handling of complaints. Multiple reviewers describe feeling passed between iCarHireInsurance and their underwriters, with neither party assuming full ownership of the claim. Some customers express frustration over denied coverage without clear justification or policy citation, especially with contract terminology disputes. Only a few reviewers report claims eventually being paid, and even these experiences were marred by lengthy waits.

In summary, iCarHireInsurance is regarded as a problematic provider within the car hire insurance sector. Customer feedback points to issues with reliability, communication, and claims fulfillment—major concerns for potential policyholders in the UK. Trust is undermined by recurring administrative hurdles and unresolved service complaints, affecting the company’s overall reputation in the insurance industry.
