Reviews Summary

Overall sentiment regarding Aetna Better Health health insurance is overwhelmingly negative based on recent customer reviews. Reviewers repeatedly mention issues such as unreliable communication, unresolved claims, and unhelpful customer service staff. Customers cite frequent problems with transportation arrangements for Medicaid members and a general lack of follow-through, even when dealing with sensitive medical situations. While one review noted reasonable pricing for medical tests, this was overshadowed by failures in communication.

The most consistent complaints center on administrative errors—such as lost paperwork and wrong contact information—and a lack of responsiveness from staff and case managers. Several reviewers experienced difficulty reaching support or receiving the necessary follow-up. A lack of physical office presence and complaints about rude or unprofessional staff were also reported, especially regarding transportation services. Frustration was amplified when promised services, such as home care or accepted providers, failed to materialize, sometimes with serious potential health consequences.

Based on the feedback, Aetna Better Health has a poor reputation for reliability and service delivery among health insurance users. Issues with customer support, communication, and the practical availability of covered services have led to deep dissatisfaction. For those seeking health insurance in this region, these reviews highlight significant operational challenges and risks with Aetna Better Health.

I am a social worker, and have to book rides for patients with Aetna Better Health Medicaid with their modivcare. Aetna Better Health frequently looses Standing Orders for transportation. The number on their form to fax Standing Orders is incorrect, and you have to call them to get the correct fax number. If you somehow get through to customer care, the phone is either a bad connection, or the person that takes the call is not helpful leading to being transferred and eventually hung up on. For a single patient in a month, I've had to call Aetna Better Health about 10 times, and we still have issues with this person's transportation. I work in a industry of health with appointments that mean life or death, and Aetna Better Health messes up these rides. I would not be surprised if their incompetence has led to patient mortalities or extremely bad health outcomes.

Well,... Let me start by saying. I was so, impressed with quality, value and the professionalism. However, they failed to follow - up and some how my information got mixed up, which is very, very bad dealing with anything medical. I had to call and resubmitting my e-mail address for the follow-up information concerning my consultation. Now, just to give them the benefit of the doubt. I thought the price I paid for blood work was Money well spent. I am assuming it was a mix up and not common practice. To just get people information and shut the door. Again, not good for anything medical.

The unwillingness to help someone is disgusting, I use to have Aetna and it’s a pretty good insurance to have; however, this office is ridiculous. You have stand outside of the office and you can see the receptionist through the window but you have to use the phone outside the window to call the person and speak to them... if this is for safety please move your office from our neighborhood if we make you that uncomfortable! This is pure laziness! Why not have a person walk up to your front desk and speak face to face, not from a phone right outside the door! Then once speaking to the woman she had an attitude, I was the one struggling to use the phone because I had never been to this location before. Disgusting!
