I started seeing Dr. Karina Luaces at South Miami Psychology Group during a very challenging time in my life. I admit I was a little skeptical about the therapy process because of a previous negative experience I had with a therapist, but my fears proved to be unfounded. Within the first couple of sessions, I felt a connection with her and began to see her as someone I could trust. Her warm and compassionate nature allowed me to be vulnerable and speak freely about personal issues I carried a lot of shame about. She has demonstrated unwavering empathy and unconditional acceptance, which helped me challenge certain negative core beliefs I have about myself and my worth as a person. Though my recovery has not been linear, Dr. Luaces has been with me every step of the way, providing encouragement and believing in me even when I could not see a path forward. Her empathy is genuine. She truly cares about her clients and shows this through her consistent professionalism, integrity, and compassion. Dr. Luaces is young and early in her profession but her knowledge and wisdom are in line with someone who has been in the counseling profession for decades. She possesses a level of clinical intuition that usually only comes with many years of experience. It warms my heart to think about the difference she will make in the lives of so many individuals throughout her career. She is a PHENOMENAL psychologist and an even more exceptional human being. I am incredibly grateful for her. The lessons and skills I learned throughout my therapy with her will have a lasting impact in my life. I highly recommend her.
