Reviews Summary

Customer sentiment for Healthy Basement Systems is mixed, with numerous reviewers praising the professionalism of staff and the effectiveness of basement and crawl space waterproofing, while others note significant problems with communication and follow-up. Several customers positively highlight specific employees, such as Carlos Ramirez, Wes, Adrian, and Eric, for their dedication and efficient work. However, some reports mention poor post-installation support, unfinished repairs, and deficiencies in project execution or communication, including missed deadlines and unsatisfactory responses to issues.

Frequent themes include quick and tidy installation, knowledgeable and courteous crews, and appreciation for clear proposals and honest assessments. Service delivery varies, with some projects completed efficiently and to customer satisfaction, while others experience problems such as unsealed encapsulation, installation mistakes, or difficulty obtaining follow-up service and resolution. Several reviews identify both strong teamwork on-site and breakdowns between sales, office, and technical personnel.

Overall, Healthy Basement Systems is seen as a competent provider of waterproofing and basement services in its local area, recognized for experienced staff and thorough inspections. While many clients have positive homeowner experiences, substantial negative feedback around communication, project management, and remedying errors may influence cautious decision-making for future potential customers. I love the work that Carlos Ramirez and his crew have done with my basement. I had it waterproofed. I am satisfied with the installation of my 3 windows, the outside window wells and my humidifier. I had paneling on the walls and everything was stripped. The work was completed in two days! I am so appreciative of Healthy Basement Systems. Thank you!

Wish I didn't have to write this review. I am extremely disappointed with the service I am receiving. The installation of my crawlspace encapsulation system went fairly well. The crew was courteous, worked quickly, and cleaned up thoroughly after the installation was done. The problems started about a week later. First, the outflow drain that was placed in my front lawn began gushing water heavily onto the sidewalk and into the street. I had asked both the salesperson and the installation crew to assure me that that would not happen, since it is not only problematic for people walking on the sidewalk but is illegal. The salesperson insisted there might be a slight flow of water but that pretty much all of the water would be contained/absorbed within the lawn. In fact, the installation crew even put extra gavel around the drain because they saw it was too close to the sidewalk and hoped the gravel would help to drain the water into the lawn. Additionally, I came home one evening to hear a piercing alarm coming from the area of the sump pump in the crawlspace. After finally contacting someone after two days, I was told at first to go down into the crawlspace and figure out myself what was causing the alarm. I was able to get a service person to come out several days later. Once he arrived he discovered that the water level was rising in the crawlspace and filling the smart drains--which is what set off the alarm. He also explained the sump pump had not been set up properly and only one pump was actively working. He set up both pumps and the battery backup to run, but now even more water has been overflowing onto the sidewalk. I spoke to him about having the outflow drain moved further back in my yard to stop the sidewalk problem and he agreed that should be done and even chose a spot where it could move to. He told me he would head back to the office and write up the new work proposal and I would have it either by the end of that Friday or on Monday morning. It is now a week after that service visit and despite several emails following up, I cannot get anyone from their office to respond to me with a cost for doing the additional work or even a time frame. And, frankly, I should not be charged for moving the outflow pipe and drain since it was installed too close to the sidewalk from the start. I understand that this is the busy season for this work, but it's clear that once you've had the system installed and paid the full amount, there is little to no customer service support. Maybe I can get a response now that I've posted this review.
