Factory Direct Flooring Ltd Reviews

As a property refurbishment contractor, we've been using Factory Direct Flooring for a number of years. We've installed plenty of click LVT flooring since the early 2000's and never had any issues or recalls to defects. We installed some for a client in May and so far have been called back 3x times to the end joints failing on one particular floor (Aqua metal oak plank). We contacted FDF, completed their "investigation form" and sent over photos of the defects, only to be told that the floor had not been installed correctly and the issues were due to "movement tolerances being too high". There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way the floor has been installed. The sub-base is self-levelled and perfectly flat - the only movement is 1mm which is pressing into the underlay that they provide. We reported on the form that we'd had issues getting the floor to go together during installation and that there appeared to be a manufacturing defect (the other floors in different colours (also from FDF) within the property were, and still are perfectly fine. As are our previous 200+ installs. Around 20% of the planks were damaged upon opening boxes (within perfectly in tact boxes, so clearly packaged with faults). We're lifting the entire floor and fitting a quick-step product from an alternative supplier (at our expense) and won't be using Factory Direct Flooring going forwards. As others have reviewed, some of the products are cheap, nasty and don't go together very well, some are okay, but don't expect a fair appraisal of defects when they arise. My advice, shop elsewhere...
