My name is Ratna, and I've been working with Bluebird Care since August 2020, during the Covid pandemic. As a podiatrist with over 25 years of experience, I had just opened my own clinic when Miguel, then a Care Service Manager, found me through Google. He needed a podiatrist for service users with complex health needs, including dementia. Given my background setting up inpatient podiatry services at St Mary’s Hospital, I knew I could help. After meeting Miguel to ensure we shared the same values, we immediately connected—both passionate about promoting independence and prioritizing patient care. Working with Miguel, the managers, carers, and finance team has been an absolute pleasure. Every team member I encountered genuinely put the service users first. Whenever I visited new clients, Miguel or a carer would meet me, provide thorough background information, and sometimes stay to support the session if needed, especially in more challenging environments. The patience, kindness, and professionalism of the Bluebird team were deeply touching, particularly in caring for those with dementia. Their commitment extended beyond home visits, often following clients into hospital settings to ensure continuity of care. Given my personal connection to memory issues through my own family, I can truly say I would trust Miguel and his team with my loved ones. Mum was receiving daily lunchtime visits from Bluebird assistants when she had an early morning fall. None of us could get to the hospital and so the team at Bluebird were able to meet her at the hospital, reassure her and bring her home. Their flexibility and professionalism Is outstanding and the communications throughput were excellent.Thank you.
