Looking at the reviews, it seems to be a mixed bag, However, what is more interesting, Is the bank seem to ignore poor reviews and respond to good reviews. I’ve recently deposited some money in my account, and received a rather impersonal letter back. Asking me to provide further information as to how I obtained this money. This included filling out a form, and sending a copy of my bank statement. I then received a reply back via letter, rather than email, saying that they wanted a letter from the person that had given me the money as the forms I had completed were not sufficient. After being given a tough deadlines to get this information to the bank by, and after a phone call, got a short extension to this time period. On sending this back I got an automated reply saying my email would be reviewed within two days.. After this time had elapsed, I called the customer service Team and was advised it was still being investigated. Personally, I think if you’re going to give people deadlines, And the stated SLA period for them to respond is two days then it should be here too. So far, not overly impressed, Let’s give him another few days and see if I meet with their approval!

Decent fixed interest rate but needed to jump through so many hoops to withdraw money. This included emails, postal letters, phone calls and then forwarding bank statements after being told my funds would be forwarded the next day. We can all understand the need for security but this was absolutely disgraceful. I wouldn't recommend investing with them; I certainly won't!

I have had term deposits accounts with RCI since almost two years without problem; for the reason of their good interest rates offered. I have had no problem managing my account online, a withdrawal I made took 24 hrs unlike most UK banks but in comparison the Co-op bank just took three days to release/transfer funds....and eight long-wait phone calls! None of the UK banks are good but RCI seems to be relatively good. They also have good layers of security.
