I want to start by saying that I have been to camps all around the world for less than what we have paid at Oxford summer courses, and have received better treatment from staff and better accommodation. I have been scammed, I paid 10 thousand dollars for this program and they sent me an email letting me know that I would be staying at Somerville college but placed me in lady Margaret hall instead, without prior knowledge which was a breach of agreement. When we arrived at the airport we waited an extra hour to find the lady that was supposed to pick us up but she was nowhere to be found, after calling her cell phone number as well as the head office of the summer program and obviously, received no response, we found the instructors sitting at the back, my name wasn’t even on the list of students that they were supposed to pick up. We arrived at the accommodation holding 2 heavy suitcases with (of course) no help under the pouring rain. When we entered our rooms, it had looked nothing like the pictures they provided us with. The bathroom are smaller than the airplane bathrooms, the curtains of the shower smell odd, insects are crawling around the room, and of course we were provided with no AC. The weather got up to 40 degrees and I was forced to deal with the scorching heat and could not get a good night’s sleep for a whole week due to the weather and the lack of a fan or AC in the rooms. We have complained repeatedly with no solution. The food provided by them gave me repeated stomachaches and constant sickness, even after I informed them I had a gluten intolerance, they gave us poor quality foods and I have lost 5 pounds since my arrival. The classes were fine, I had a great teacher which was the only good aspect of the program. After a week of suffering in the heat and waking up suffocating and drenched in sweat I asked to see a superior in the campus , they referred me to a woman named Sophie in which she began to make sarcastic comments in a disgusting tone, began to berate me and my friend, pointed her finger in my face and shouting at us from the top of our lungs. I asked for a refund and she laughed in my face, all while my mother was on the other line. She began to make faces at me and she told us to leave her office, leaving us with no solutions and more problems. We then had a meeting with the senior director of the campus , Steven, who asked to see me and my friend individually along with our group leader Joseph. When I asked to be in the room with my roommate, they kicked me out and refused. After waiting outside for an hour, my friend came out crying , they put her in the room and began to gang up on her and insinuated that she was lying about her own experience. When I entered after I withdrew, they told me I wasn’t their problem anymore and refused to address the issues at the course. They called me disrespectful for an hour and refused to let me state my opinion. The staff has been continuously harassing us and discriminating against us (we’re arab Muslims) . I’m warning whoever comes to this disgusting program, they are scammers . I have been documenting and recording their behaviors, I’ve collected evidence. They only want your money and don’t care about your wellbeing , they enforce rules that have nothing to do with our safety, they don’t care about our necessities, like food, soap, towels… in conclusion, beware of this scam of a program.

My daughter just loved the time spent at Oxford attending the Oxford Summer course! The experience she had was remarkable not only in the subject she loves (marketing), having contact with a renowned professor but creating genuine bonds with international friends. It was an experience she will never forget.
