I am proud to share that I have successfully completed my City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles at Uxbridge College, within the Department of Engineering. This has been an incredibly rewarding journey that has not only expanded my technical knowledge but also strengthened my practical skills in the field of automotive engineering. A huge part of my success is thanks to the outstanding guidance and support provided by my tutors and the workshop team. I would especially like to express my deep gratitude to *Narinderpal Matharu (Steve)*, whose dedication to teaching and deep understanding of the subject matter made complex concepts easier to grasp. His clear instruction and constant encouragement were invaluable throughout the course. Equally, I must commend *Chris Baker*, whose hands-on expertise and passion for the trade were truly inspiring. Chris has an incredible ability to break down advanced techniques and pass them on to students with clarity and patience. His commitment to developing our real-world skills has equipped us with the confidence needed to succeed in the industry. I would also like to thank *Dain* , the assistant in the Uxbridge College workshop, for his consistent support during practical sessions. Dain's approachability and readiness to help created a welcoming and productive environment where learning was both enjoyable and effective. Uxbridge College has provided a strong foundation for my career in vehicle maintenance and repair, and I wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone serious about entering the automotive trade. The staff’s commitment to student success is evident in every aspect of the program.

I am appalled, went to today’s enrolment day and the staff are nothing but rude! They do not care for students that is clear. They only want the money and to get the work day over and done with, it was rushed, unplanned, messy. The lady doing the a-level room was nothing but rude, back chatting and down right unprofessional. I feel like this day taught me everything I need to know about Uxbridge college, please train your staff to be better and to have a clearer and more professional mindset in the future. Your staff are here to help, Teach and prove to students that they are there for them, not make students fearful and not wanting to go to your college. Other reviews state that there children have had worse experiences with teachers from this school and to be completely honest, I am not shocked.

I have been attending for a good few years now And only recently transferred from a block that assists people with special needs and while some teachers were only slightly annoying and one of them was straight up incompetent most of them were great. But when I transferred to do the science's I had a very bad mental breakdown and even knowing I have an EHCP and have certain issues they showed no care for how I was feeling and that I physically was not able to attend classes so they recommended I transfer and I agreed. So now I'm stuck at home because the course isn't accepting any more applicants untill September. Do not recommend attending unless you like having teachers who don't care about you. I'm only here because there's no where else for me to go so don't make the mistake I did of going find somewhere better.

Reviews Summary

Overall sentiment towards Uxbridge College is mixed, with reviewers pointing out both highly positive and strongly negative aspects of their experiences. Positive feedback highlights dedicated tutors like Narinderpal Matharu (Steve), Chris Baker, and assistant Dain, who are described as supportive, knowledgeable, and patient. However, critical concerns appear frequently, such as perceptions of unprofessional behavior during enrolment, lack of care for students with special needs, and challenges linked to lesson structure and staff attitudes.

Common themes in the reviews focus on staff conduct and student well-being. Supportive and inspiring instructional staff are appreciated for making complex material accessible and building real-world skills. In contrast, recurring criticisms mention rudeness, poor communication, issues for students with special needs, and logistical barriers such as attendance procedures and inconvenient class times. Allegations of discrimination, bullying, and difficulties with public transport and campus logistics are also noted.

In summary, Uxbridge College is regarded as a place with high-commitment staff in some departments but faces significant reputational challenges in other areas. Prospective students in the London region are advised to weigh reports of both excellence in teaching and complaints about inclusivity, well-being, and operational inconsistencies when considering enrolment.
