Selling solicitor on house I purchased in December. There were multiple issues with the general state of the house when purchased. Mainly things like the loft had not been emptied, the garage was still half full. Carpets were dirty…apparently because the seller had needed to load the vacuum cleaner into the removal van so couldn’t vacuum when leaving. Ironic they managed to take their vacuum but leave loads of other stuff that they should have removed as well. We had also agreed to buy a bed off the previous owners and the bed they left behind was broken…been told through our solicitor that mcewan Fraser said that our fault / issue…we would never have agreed to purchase a broken bed. Highly unprofessional and should have been making it clear to their client should not be selling something they know is broken. We notified our solicitor of the issues immediately and it was agreed that the sellers would meet the costs of removal of their stuff but now just getting silence when been trying to get this arranged for almost 3 months. McEwan Fraser now just appear to be ignoring the requests from my solicitor / are saying they aren’t getting a response from their client. They should be doing more to get this resolved as a matter of professionalism. Now looking like I am having to go through court to get this resolved which should never have been required. It’s taken up so much unneccessary time and effort on my side and dragged on far too long and feel as the sellers legal ‘experts’ in the whole process they are as much to blame as the sellers themselves

A great firm with a good reputation. Lewis Dobbie has recently guided us through the sale of two properties and the purchase of another. He has been excellent. Efficient, knowledgeable and he has been there with guidance and solid advice throughout the whole process. I would recommend this firm to anyone considering selling or buying property in Edinburgh.
