Reviews Summary

Based on customer reviews, Ipsy’s subscription beauty service receives mixed feedback with a heavier negative tone. Reviewers consistently note frustrating experiences related to shipping issues, unresponsive customer service, and problems with unauthorized charges. Although one long-standing member highlights the joy and value of the monthly curated makeup bags, most other comments focus on operational missteps such as delayed shipments, recurring product selections, and difficulties managing memberships or cancellations.

The most frequent themes across Ipsy reviews are dissatisfaction with the product selection process, shipping logistics, and perceived lack of transparency in billing. Concerns about repeated items and scarcity of high-quality or new brands are repeatedly mentioned. Clients also report confusing website navigation and a lack of control over the customization of subscription boxes. However, positive remarks do mention the convenience of trial-sized products and occasional savings on quality brands.

Overall, Ipsy is regarded as a once well-received beauty subscription company that now faces declining customer trust due to recent service inconsistencies. While some loyal users still appreciate aspects of the service, persistent issues raised by reviewers across the United States suggest the company has significant operational challenges to address to rebuild reliability.

Sucks they use unreliable carriers, specifically ACI Logistix to deliver their products. Extremely inconvenient and makes the subscription not worth it. Only one month in and heavily contemplating on canceling it. Update 4/23/25 Ipsy shipped out an accommodation box for me through DHL this time, meaning it will be delivered by USPS which is much more reliable than ACI whatever the heck that company is. As long as my packages continue getting delivered this way, I see no future problems with having my Ipsy subscription. Talked to customer service and voiced my concerns and many others about ACI and she said they’d make a note of it. If they ship your things though ACI and you’re having issues, please reach out to them!

I have been a member for many, many years and look forward to my monthly subscription with joy. The sizes of the makeup are perfect to refresh anything that I have run out of and honestly, I have not purchased full size mascara in years. I found some of my favorite products ever just from using these smaller size samples and the samples that I receive are always curated to meet my needs and my preferences. Even the items that I do not wish to use, I often just set aside to pass on to someone else and it is rarely ill received. This has also assisted me with saving money because I am receiving high quality brand items at a price that I can afford and it helps me to try fun things and kind of scratches the itch that I'm craving for my makeup creativity. I no longer wander aimlessly through expensive beauty supply stores and spend a lot of money on products that I'm not sure if I'm going to like. This decreases my impulse shopping immensely and it helps me to create better decisions when I am purchasing full size products or purchasing another item based off of my subscription delivery. Every month I also receive a cute themed bag that the makeup comes inside and every month I switch out my wallet in my purse with a new one. With this little bag, I store cosmetics in these bags, I use them all the time everywhere and save them and even throw them in the washing machine. Some of the bags even have really cute keychains that I have removed or little pendants and little hangy doodles that are just fun and cute and I have repurposed into jewelry or into a gift giving or gift wrapping.

I used to sub to boxycharm and I loved it. I re-subbed in December and thought what the heck let’s do icon box, knowing it was December I wouldn’t get icon box til February that’s fine. NO they said oh hey we will send you novembers icon… I’m like why I won’t get to pick I probably will get bottom of the barrel stuff and I did!!! I am FAIR SKIN and I get two items shade tan & darker for foundation and powder. I cannot use and the cheap newspaper they put in the box that explains the items in the box… none of those items were in my box. I wrote to them to see if they could fix it and honestly I wanted a refund $60 for what I didn’t want they said oh we can give you $5 coupon I said no I want a refund they said ok $8.71 is our final offer. Wtf I cancelled!!!!!!!
