Reviews Summary

The overall sentiment toward Waterfront Leisure Centre in Woolwich is mixed, with reviews highlighting both commendable and concerning aspects. Reviewers consistently note friendly and helpful staff, engaging facilities for children, and features like wave machines and slides. However, significant criticism is directed at hygiene, maintenance issues, and frequent closure of pools or slides due to understaffing, impacting the reliability of certain attractions.

Common feedback includes praise for the variety of pools and activities, especially for younger children, and the center's layout that accommodates families. Several customers point out large, accessible changing facilities and satisfactory water temperatures. Yet, repeated concerns about unclean changing rooms, poorly maintained infrastructure, and sections being closed unexpectedly are prevalent. Many observe the center is aging and that the opening of “Woolwich Waves” may be affecting investment in maintenance.

Overall, Waterfront Leisure Centre is regarded as a fun and engaging choice for families in Woolwich, particularly for those visiting during quieter or early hours. While many appreciate the offerings and friendly staff, persistent issues with cleanliness and inconsistent facility availability affect its reputation as a reliable leisure venue in the area.

Took my two kids (age 6 and 3) on a Friday morning to the family fun session and was really impressed. The centre was really clean, everything worked well, and the staff were great. They were short staffed so the toddler fun pool didn't open, but they staff did what they could to keep everything else open - we had the viper slide, the other slides, wave machine and jacuzzi. Highly recommend

Where do I begin???? It’s never been this bad in the 20+ years I’ve been coming here!!! To start off, the lady at the reception was more interested in her phone messaging someone rather than greeting people! I get that it’s the holidays but to close half of the pools for swimming lessons isn’t ideal! Also the baby toddler area was shut due to no staff (work that one out!), the multi-slide was also closed and also you can’t sit on or slide off the big multicoloured balls in the big pool anymore…..due to health and safety! What once was a truly lovely gem has become so dilapidated all because of the soon to be arrival of “Woolwich Waves”

Staff were super friendly and helpful, no complaints regarding that however the hygiene standards were really low, the toilets were quite nasty, all but one had either wet toilet paper smeared across the seats etc or human waste left to linger. The main pool itself had nice clear water however the surfaces looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a while, the changing rooms/showers defo need a deep clean. Overall myself and my group did have a good time, as I said staff were lovely and water was clean but things could be improved.
