Reviewing the pool... It's an amazing facility... One of my favourite pools of London. Good temp, and often not too busy... Especially after you figure out when the lessons are on, which can take up two of the lanes (though swimming is to be encouraged, so carry on!) The changing rooms and showers are much cleaner of late as they have (finally) started policing the no shoes rule that previously was almost entirely ignored. Keep up the improvements Better, it's being noticed!

Extremely obnoxious deputy manager named Dmitry Golubstaf. Have been coming to this gym regularly for the past year. Unfortunately my membership expired a few days ago, explained that this was being renewed through work and provided evidence of this. He refused me entry despite another member of staff allowing me in previously. Walked over to the Market Road gym and they let me in without issues. The gym itself is quite basic and dirty, changing rooms are in a state and lots of equipment is out of use. Clearly management have no oversight or just don't care. I would seriously consider going to another site, egotistical managers that have such poor customer service skills is worrying. How they expect to increase revenue when you are actively discouraged from using the gym in mind boggling. Avoid!

It is so frustrating when you come to the gym with an exercise routine in mind to find out that certain machines are still out of order even after 4 weeks!!! No one ever seems to know when they're going to be fixed and therefore can give no updates 😔😔

Reviews Summary

Customer feedback for Better leisure centre in London reveals predominantly negative and mixed sentiments regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and management. While some note improvements, such as better policing of hygiene rules in the pool area, most reviews cite persistent issues with dirty equipment, broken machines, and poorly maintained facilities. Criticisms extend to customer service and unfriendly or uncompromising management, contributing to a perception of declining standards.

Common themes include dissatisfaction with the state of changing rooms, gym equipment, and air quality. Several customers highlight malfunctioning amenities such as gym machines, a leaking roof, and inadequate sauna temperatures. Access issues, confusing facility layouts, and lack of clear signposting are recurrent complaints, as are frustrations over basic hygiene and general upkeep. Experiences with the retail shop and complaint resolution are also mentioned unfavorably.

Overall, Better’s leisure centre in London is seen as affordable but suffering from neglect, inconsistent service, and design flaws. The facility's reputation in its local area has declined, with some long-term members expressing disappointment and considering alternative options. Positive mentions, such as high-quality pool facilities and varied yoga classes, are present but outweighed by operational shortcomings.
