Reviews Summary

Overall, reviewer sentiment toward Stanton Optical in Fair Oaks is strongly negative, with recurring accounts of customer frustration, service inconsistencies, and concerns over transparency. While one experience highlights efficient booking, knowledgeable staff (notably Thomas), and successful support for contact lens prescription and delivery logistics, most reviewers report dissatisfaction with communication, billing practices, and a lack of prompt resolution by staff and management. A few do note positive staff interactions, but these are outweighed by numerous incidents of perceived dishonesty, miscommunication, and delays.

Key themes in the feedback include problems with order fulfillment—such as delays far beyond promised timelines, incorrect prescriptions, and partially completed orders. Several reviews point to issues with record-keeping, particularly with contact details and insurance billing, leading to confusion and mounting frustration. Many customers cite poor customer service at both local and corporate levels, mentioning unhelpful responses, lack of staff accountability, and difficulties obtaining refunds or corrections.

Based on reviewer reports from Fair Oaks and surrounding areas, Stanton Optical’s reputation is hampered by frequent negative experiences concerning reliability, transparency, and overall client care. While isolated positive interactions occur, the majority of feedback suggests a need for improved communication, accurate fulfillment, and a more responsive approach to resolving customer concerns at this optometry provider.

*A Fantastic Experience!* I recently had an exceptional experience that I can't wait to share at Stanton Optical in Fair Oaks! (3/16/2025) The website was incredibly easy to navigate, allowing me to schedule my appointment for the very next day—on a SUNDAY, no less! How awesome is that? Upon arrival, I was greeted immediately and informed about the current frame promotions, which was a nice surprise. Thomas was outstanding from the start; he kept me informed throughout the entire appointment process. His communication was top-notch, and he was genuinely friendly. As a first-time patient interested in contacts, I appreciated Thomas's extensive knowledge about different brands and products. He made me feel confident in his recommendations for my "special eyes." Although I couldn't try the contacts in-store due to my unique prescription, he assured me that they had a wide variety in stock. Since I live out of town, I opted to have my first boxes of contacts mailed directly to my home. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the service and expertise I received. Thank you, Thomas Walker, for making my first experience with contacts so enjoyable! I highly recommend this place to anyone in need of eye care.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! GO TO COSTCO INSTEAD. Read the other reviews, not " one offs". Continual reports of inputting wrong phone numbers, manipulative about prices / insurance issues, and pick up dates etc . I ordered june 10, pair for son and myself. Sons glasses ready in 1 hour, great. Mine were said to be ready in 2 weeks they would call me.3 weeks I call, no order on file can't, I'll find my order, phone number is only tied to my son's order not mine. Finally, after over 20 minutes on the phone, they find my order. They tell me the phone number. They had, which was totally fictional, don't know where that number came from.Neither did they... I had to ask them to crack my phone number telling them that how would they be able to call me if they don't have my correct number Called again a week later, still not read, same issue with phone number.I had to have them.Put in my correct phone number again Called 1 or 2 times again, glass is still not ready. Called, again, today a month and a week later, july 16, and I asked for a refund, they put me through to the manager, robert. I told him very briefly that i'm calling to request a refund on an order from june eleventh that still has not been received, i've received no phone calls etc.. He asked if he could explain and I said, I'm really not interested in explanation. I just want my refund at this point. I don't want the glasses.I'm not happy with the service that's been provided. They also told me when I ordered that.I didn't have vision insurance and that the out of pocket price was like 320, they said something that they give me a discount for people that don't have insurance also something to the fact I might be able to send it into insurance for reimbursement later While on the phone with Robert, he let me know that I might have trouble using my vision benefits again. If I request a refund, because it's already been billed to my insurance Pause.... First thing in my head went insurance fraud?? I had no knowledge, they billed my insurance or what insurance, he said they billed my medicare, i explained my confusion over that and he said, no I got at least a five hundred dollar discount based on my insurance coverage I simply stated that I was miscommunicated, that is not what I was told in any way, shape or form, i was told they offer a type of discount for people without insurance. So very shady in my opinion The manager Robert did not interject an apology. Or reiterate back to me, what had happened to show that he understood the situation. Instead, all he asked is, "can I explain? Can you please let me explain you , you keep cutting me offAnd that's rude" He called me rude, At that point I said, I am calling him being very polite and to the point, and if you wanted to interject anything, it should have been an apology off the bat and then you made excuses about how he couldn't apologize, because I cut them off et cetera, anyway, horrible customer service They couldn't even call me when my glasses were ready. Almost a month and a half later.. And they build my insurance, which they said they were not doing. Tjey obvioysly work on volume, a bit of bait and switch, so perhaps 80% is not problematic, and that is their bread and butter... And customers who are treated unprofessionally, possibly unethically, not a problem. Importance of due diligence peopke. so many cimpanies etc don't realize that their companies pay a lot of money to advertise to get good reputation, sales, etc but they fail to realize that just one unsatisfied customer can undo millions of paid advertising. Buyer beware. PS, people should be aware that places like this do not do a complete eye exam. My regular eye doctor he does all the tests for glaucoma, and other genetic or age related issues, and is an actual dr with many additional machines, and is an actual doctor that sits there and talks about your vision health, none of that happens here. Note the staffer who help upon arrival was very efficient and friendly.

They LIED straight to my face. They said I could get my glasses the same day. I drove over an hour to get there and again I asked about same day glasses. I told YES. So I did the exam, that was easy. The 2 pair for $79 is a joke Only about 10 pairs at that price. Mine cost $135. Then they told me I could pick up my glasses in 7 to 10 days. Wrong. I just checked the status of my order and I won't be getting them for another 14 days. If you need your glasses now like I do, you better go to lens crafters because these people lied. I wouldn't have gone there if I knew it was going to take 16 days to get my glasses. Not impressed and won't be a returning customer.
