🚨 RED FLAG WARNING: Deceptive Billing and Misleading Sales Practices by Ooma Business Phone System I am sharing this warning based on my personal and disappointing experience with Ooma, a company I initially trusted to handle my business phone system. I was approached by an Ooma representative who assured me of the following: A 30-day free trial, with no charges during that period. After the trial, a monthly fee of $34.95 for two lines. A business phone would be provided as part of the agreement. However, shortly after agreeing to the setup, everything changed: I received an email stating that I would be charged $45.95/month—not the $34.95 I was promised. Worse, when I checked my bank account, I saw an unauthorized charge of $64.73, far above both quoted amounts. The pricing was not what was agreed upon, and the billing was executed without transparency or consent. When I called to request a full refund, I was met with resistance, excuses, and blame-shifting from Ooma representatives. The customer service is inconsistent and unreliable—one rep says one thing, and the next tells you something completely different. It became clear that their sales reps are overly aggressive, desperate to get sign-ups, and will say whatever it takes to close the deal, regardless of what the company actually delivers. ⚠️ The Risks Are Real: Misleading verbal agreements Unauthorized charges No transparency in billing Excuses instead of accountability Difficult and frustrating refund process Recommendation: If you're considering using Ooma for your business communication, proceed with extreme caution—or better yet, avoid this company altogether. Their sales and billing practices raise serious red flags, and the stress is not worth the risk to your business or your finances. Would you like this formatted for posting on social media, Better Business Bureau (BBB), or the FCC/FTC complaint portal?

They have some good features, but it doesn't matter when their phone system will not function. We found that we were not getting text messages from our customers. Ooma acted as though they couldn't care less and said they would get back to us in 24 to 48 hours. I highly recommend using anyone else before using ooma business phone systems

Surprising insecure platform. Since there is no two-factor authentication option, someone was able to hack into my mother-in-law's account, purchase pre-paid calling minutes using my credit card (on file) and make international calls. The system must not have even asked them for a CVC number! To make matters worse, there's no way for customer support to tell where the call originated from, no way for me to block international calls on the account and no way to be sure that - even after changing the password - that they weren't still logged in via the Ooma app. That kind of lax approach to customer account security is unacceptable.
