I contacted them via email with a chance to rectify the situation and never heard back. I gave them 7 business days to respond. Here is what I sent so you know not to use them that details my experience with the company. We paid over $4000 for work done and we were asked to spend an additional $7000 when we called and inquired about the lack of temperature change in the house. Good morning, T****! Thank you for the additional quote. I just want to walk through everything to ensure I have an understanding so I can proceed with our next steps. C**** came out and walked me through the sales book, promising that USA Insulation’s services would solve the issue of cold air being pushed into the basement and help regulate the temperature throughout the house. He explained this would be done by sealing attic penetration points, insulating the attic and crawl space, and spray foaming the rim joists in the basement. He also said the existing cellulose insulation in the basement wasn’t appropriate, and that spray foam would not only help with temperature but also keep out spiders. I followed up with him about the attic insulation removal that was on the quote because he assured me they would work around it. He replied and said the removal charge was actually for the basement rim joists. On installation day, the attic crew said they couldn’t complete one of the steps (battens?) due to plaster and the structure of the home. I didn’t ask if that meant a reduced cost, but it’s basic logic that if a portion of the work can’t be done, the price should reflect that. Then I was told the basement wasn’t included in the job. I pulled up my quote—which clearly said “basement”—and the crew admitted C*** made a mistake. C*** told me directly the basement was included because it was essential to fixing our issue. I told the crew I wouldn’t pay until I spoke with someone else. For the record, I only went with USA Insulation because the basement was included—even though your quote was nearly $1,500 higher than the others I received. Without that component, I never would have agreed to this job. Eventually, USA agreed to do the spray foam in the basement. What we got was a mess: spray foam stains on the carpet, foam on the walls, cellulose still exposed, and spray over electrical boxes. Unacceptable. I gave it a few days to settle, but absolutely nothing has changed. The house temperature is no different, and the basement is still freezing. My husband called the service desk, and we were told the reason nothing has changed is because it’s “hotter than usual.” That’s nonsense—it’s been cooler this week than before the insulation, and we still feel no difference. The company's suggestion to the solution is another $7,000 in work? I just want to confirm—after the misunderstanding of the scope and delivering zero measurable results, the answer is to spend even more? Please confirm my understanding, so I know how to proceed.
