Reviews Summary

The Kitty Cafe's concept garners mixed reactions from customers. While the idea of combining a cat environment with a dining experience is intriguing, the execution seems to fluctuate. Many reviews suggest that the cats, which are central to the cafe's appeal, vary in their interactions with guests; some patrons find them adorable and friendly, but others note disinterest or distress among the felines. The staff receive contrasting remarks, with some commended for their friendliness and others criticized for rudeness or inaction, particularly in managing guest behavior towards the cats. The environment is described as large and enriching for cats, though there are concerns over adherence to welfare procedures. Food quality and service speed are recurrent issues; customers often describe the food as bland, overpriced, or served cold, and service as slow. An often-mentioned positive aspect is the cafe's role in cat adoptions, potentially elevating its reputation among animal enthusiasts despite operational criticisms.

I visited the place on a Sunday. It was quite crowded and the cats didn't really stand out. The concept of the place is nice but the cats aren't as interactive as you'd expect. Overall,It's a nice place with some cute souvenirs. There's something like an entry free of 7 quid which I think is reasonable.

Went for afternoon tea had to pay £7 per person to enter. Service was slow to place order and await order to arrive, but staff very friendly. You are given a box that goes over your food when it arrives to protect it from the cats as from our experience a couple of the kittens kept diving onto customers tables including our own to grab food. Cats were very friendly and well looked after, the cafe is a huge environment and lots of enrichment for the cats to enjoy. We ordered the after tea for two for £25 came with any two hot drinks and a selection of sandwiches scones and deserts. Food was very nice and couldn't complain for the price

We came here today and I have to say the cats were amazing. They’re all so sweet and I love that this place doubles as an adoption place. Unfortunately the food really isn’t up to scratch (very bland and overpriced for what it is) but it was worth a visit just to see the cats. The part that scores low for me is the people they let in here. There were kids chasing the cats around (many of the cats clearly distressed) and parents were doing nothing about it, nor were the staff. There are clear rules to let the cats approach you and not to do anything to scare them but when people were clearly breaking rules, staff weren’t doing anything to correct this and it made it really disappointing for people there who actually followed the rules and wanted to see cats in a natural, stress free environment.
