Hidden Gem! I had family visiting from North Carolina, and we decided to try Kiosko for dinner last night. I can't say enough good things about this place! Upon entering, you instantly feel transported from Brooklyn to Puerto Rico. We kicked off our meal with tostones and garlic sauce, which were simply delicious! My grandmother ordered the pernil, and it was not only super tasty but also served in a generous portion. As for me, I chose the octopus salad, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had—so fresh and full of flavor! This place is a must-visit, and I will 100% be back! Also, thank you Nestor for being so accommodating and answering all of our questions about the menu! So many good options to choose from

Where do I begin, sadly this was not only my first time visiting this spot but my last time. After googling this place & craving good Puerto Rican food my husband & I took the drive all the way from Jersey to check this place out. Upon arrival I was not expecting it to be so small & tight in there, you’re practically on top of one another but we were ordering take out so didn’t really care too much. The woman at the register Adianez was sweet in taking our order, she stated to us that the wait would be around 40 minutes or so we said no problem & that we would be waiting right in front inside of our car, we decided to order & were charged for 3 quesitos puertorriqueno but only had 2 once we got into the car no biggie I went back inside she apologized & gave me the 3rd one. Fast forward now we go back inside to get our full order go back to the car & start checking everything to make sure it’s right before we leave because we clearly drove more than an hour to this spot. This is where things start to just not make sense. We had ordered 2 alcapurrias de yuca & 1 alcapurria de jueyes but only had 1 alcapurria de yuca in the bag. I keep on looking through all our items & noticed that my order of Camarones Al Ajillo / Garlic Shrimp off the PLATOS FUERTES section of the menu that states it comes with Pilon Smashed Green Plantains with 6 wild caught Shrimp in a Garlic infused olive oil sauce was literally just the shrimp with some peppers thrown in olive oil in a small plastic tubberware, there was absolutely no smashed plantain as stated. I head back inside to speak with Adianez & first tell her about the alcapurria, she again apologizes then turns around to the chef in the kitchen & tells him in Spanish how he forgot to add the ones we ordered & jokingly tells him I had confidence in you. Now at this point I take out the shrimp & ask about the mashed plantain it was suppose to come with, she now looks super confused & tells me no I think you’re confusing it with the Mofongo & I tell her no look at the menu to see for yourself you already have an actual Mofongo section on the menu & that’s not what or where I ordered from. She then grabs a menu & as I show her tells me oh yes you’re right look at it right here it does say it but that’s wrong let me call my manager. She then proceeds to make a call & explain to the alleged manager on the phone the situation & asks what do I do, whatever was told to her was told & she hangs up only to say my manager said sorry that it’s a mistake on the menu & how he must have copy & pasted it & then added it where it didn’t belong, and actually proceeded to say I’m so sorry cause now I’m the one who has to go through the embarrassment which only told me she knew the situation was dead wrong but it wasn’t her fault. I have never been to an establishment where they themselves acknowledge & admit to the mistake on their part but do not even attempt to rectify it with the customers especially after spending $196 dollars, not a we’ll throw in a dessert or fix the order just NOTHING but a sorry but we can’t do nothing smh this was completely unprofessional not to mention the pricing on these dishes for the portions you’re getting & I’m sorry but mediocre food. I’ve read the other reviews & it seems to be others who think the pricing is a bit steep & the food is on the salty side. The rice as you can see in the pictures I included was lumped up & mushy on one side & did not taste fresh, the beans were watered down and also not good, that little slice of cake for $9 is just robbery. I honestly don’t do reviews like that but felt I just had to after this experience because I had so many other people that wanted to try this spot & now won’t be, it’s just not worth it. The manager definitely needs some retraining especially after also seeing on their IG page as well that he just likes to go back & forth with customers, again extremely UNPROFESSIONAL, please do better. I had to come back onto my review & include the voice note that this “manager” decided to leave on Instagram, UNPROFESSIONAL

Kiosko 787 is fantastic. Just looking at the front door and decorations inside makes you feel at home and the food is amazing. They even serve tostones de pana, which are impossible to find outside Puerto Rico, and the pastelon (ground beef layered with friend plantains and cheese) tasted like my childhood. (plus the dish was so generous that I had 2 leftover portions), if you're vegetarian, they have options, including the beans which don't include ham and delicious yuca. We had virgin Piña Coladas that also taste like the ones from home. I love this place! Reservations are a must, it is tiny.
