I ordered two ACIQ extreme heat pumps and matching air handlers which if they live up to their advertised levels of performance, will be great. The customer service has been good, tech assistance OK too. The one shortcoming so far has been in the Chinese to English documentation provided with the units.
Some information is not clear, and calls to Customer Service are needed to clarify, which was done professionally by the team at HVAC Direct. The one question they were short on was the air filter requirements relating to size. The two air handlers we purchased have no backside lip to support the filter, and the installation manual doesn't provide any guide to what filter to buy. Tech support struggled to find any info on this, and I suggest fabricating a small 1/2"x 1/2" lip in the rear of the air handler where the filter fits to support the rear of the filter and better seal it in place so air doesn't leak around it at that point. This observation relates to the ACIQ-48-AHB and ACIQ-48-HPB
which so far operate beautifully. We're very pleased with the comfort, low noise level, and features inherent in the system. If the directions are followed and you are competent mechanically, installation is simple, direct, clear and flawless. The equipment fired right up, did what it was supposed to do, and provides a new level of comfort so far (we've not used the heat function yet as we're in NC in May). Other than that the ACIQ Customer Service has always been responsive and on our most recent call Amanda was professional, courteous, and provided the information requested promptly during the several times I called requesting information on my order. There was one glitch where a tech was disconnected and never called back, but that was the outlier, not the norm, during our inquiries to Customer Service.
