Reviews Summary

Based on recent reviews, EdFinancial’s reputation for student loan servicing is overwhelmingly negative among borrowers. Reviewers consistently note problems with the company’s online payment system, unexpected credit score impacts, and lengthy customer service wait times. While one customer found some representatives to be kind, most feedback indicates deep frustration and recurring technical or procedural failures. The limited positive sentiment is overshadowed by ongoing complaints about missed payments, lack of notification, and low trust in the provider. Common feedback includes issues with automated and manual payments not processing, accounts being marked delinquent without timely warning, and encountering system errors on the website. Customers also mention difficulty reaching EdFinancial support by phone and unresolved disputes involving lost or misapplied payments. Several users describe having to take extensive extra steps to document or dispute errors, highlighting dissatisfaction with communication and accountability. Overall, EdFinancial is regarded as unreliable and problematic in its student loan servicing role, particularly regarding payment handling and customer support experiences. Trust in the brand is notably low according to reviewers, with multiple warnings against using their online systems. The dominance of these negative patterns impacts their reputation in the U.S. loan servicing market.

Absolutely horrible..... I've had loans from school and a few years ago in 2021. I believe they called me and we set up payment plans and everything was going great. I got a letter saying everything was caught up awesome. Now I look back and saying I missed tons of payments back then, and it screwed up my credit so freaking bad. Why all of a sudden? Why did I not get a notifications before? Why did I get notified and payments taken out from these people and now all of a sudden I still owe them money??? Absolutely freaking ridiculous.... It makes no sense to me. And I will be calling these people tomorrow and giving them complete and total hell

Unlike everyone else I was able to reach various representatives who were very kind and able to walk me through various steps to assist in fixing my credit because they started my loan repayment two months early. The problem was they walked me through the wrong steps and now I’m still sitting at a very low credit score. The amount of rings I’ve had to jump through to try and fix a mistake on their end is almost hysterical.

If zero stars were possible, I would rate this company as such. I have had a horrible experience with their online payment portal. I have setup my bank account for auto pay several times, with email confirmation saying it is active. 5 months later I found on my payment was delinquent. After I thought my payments were up to date, a month later still experiencing the same issue, with a massive hit on my credit for late payment. This company does not hold themselves accountable. However, I feel bad for customer service because they do the best that they can. Everyone else above them sits and does nothing.. If you can choose another lender, I would recommend doing so..
