E5 Bakehouse's customer reviews analysis

Analysing the shared reviews, E5 Bakehouse appears to enjoy a positive reputation, particularly noted for its high-quality baked goods, coffee, and breakfast options. Patrons frequently praise the bakery's commitment to freshness, local sourcing, and organic products. It is clear that the bakery's croissants, sourdough bread, pastries, and breakfast dishes, like the scrambled eggs, are crowd favourites. Additionally, the ambiance and location under the viaducts at London Fields with an outdoor patio are well-received aspects of the customer experience. A recurrent note of appreciation is directed towards the bakery's eco-conscious ethos with a low-waste mission. Nevertheless, the bakery experiences heavy traffic, particularly on weekends, leading to substantial wait times and occasionally impacting service speed. There is a mention of a decline in the quality of some staples such as coffee and French-style croissants, alongside a policy change regarding laptop usage on weekends, which has generated discontent among some returning customers.

Positive Feedback

E5 Bakehouse demonstrates a strong positive image through its customers' feedback, highlighting several high-quality elements of its services and products. Patrons commend the locally sourced and organic ingredients, including the high-quality jersey milk used for coffees. The atmosphere is described as great, with a particularly appreciated outdoor seating arrangement. The bakery is noted for its laptop-friendly environment during the week, contributing to its welcoming atmosphere. Its dedication to being eco-friendly and milling its flour on-site has also been acknowledged positively. Moreover, educational initiatives like the sourdough class receive high praise for their informative and enjoyable nature. Overall, the bakery stands out for its fresh bread, pastries, and consistently good roasted coffee beans, making it a worthwhile gastronomic establishment despite the potential for a higher price point.

Concerns and Threads

Although E5 Bakehouse has received many accolades, there are some areas where customer feedback suggests room for improvement. Most notably, the bakery seems to struggle with managing customer volume during peak times, especially on the weekend. This leads to wait times that can range from 30 to 45 minutes, which some patrons find off-putting. The queue, which can extend outside the establishment, and the slow service particularly for coffee, may impact the overall customer experience negatively. Additionally, there is specific feedback about a decline in the quality of formerly highly regarded offerings such as coffee and French-style croissants. Restrictions on laptop usage during weekends also suggest that the bakery might be prioritizing a different customer experience than what returning customers were accustomed to, potentially alienating a segment of its clientele.

One of my favourite bakeries in London! Their croissants are amazing - although they are more dense as if whole-wheat flour was used. Can’t go wrong with any of their baked good. They also make quality coffee and have an incredible back patio and outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

Wow what a great bakery! It does get busy on the weekend and the food does take awhile (30-45 minutes I’d say - but coffee did come after 10-15.. a little slow but..), so I’d recommend getting there around noon or even earlier. That being said, they use very high quality jersey milk for the milky coffees (oat if you require an alternative). The highlight for me though was the delicious scrambled eggs (w chili butter and chives), on sourdough toast, and a side sausage; simple yet one of the better brunches I’ve had here in London!

One of our favourite bakeries in London! Great atmosphere and big space being located under the viaducts at London Fields. All the goods are baked fresh daily, the butter and pain au chocolat croissants are our go-to. We love sitting on the back patio with a flat white and a croissant. The bakery is laptop friendly during the week. Highly recommend!
