Katty is a true master at cutting curly hair. She cuts with shears rather than a razor. I came in last month with a three month old mullet I didn’t asked for but was given anyway, from a totally different salon. Katty spent a very long time consulting with me that day, game-planning my hair’s resurrection. I came back a month later (today) for my first cut. I am really impressed, but not surprised. If you look at Katty’s instagram it’s obvious she’s the real deal. The first pic is what it looked like right after I left David Rios. The second pic is the mess I had right before she fixed it. The third and fourth pics are after I came home and played with it a little. I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy right after a haircut. She’s a gift! Update five days later: this haircut is nothing short of a miracle. My hair was in such an awkward grown out phase of the worst cut I ever had in my life, and then Katty somehow made it look chic, no matter what. Chic when I wake up, chic when I put a little effort into styling it, chic at the end of the day. This woman is SERIOUSLY skilled. She’s the sixth hair dresser I’ve seen since moving to DC and the only one who actually deserves what she charges. And she deserves every penny.
