Car Loans UK – Hidden Fees, Poor Communication, and Pushy Sales Tactics
My experience with Car Loans UK was a headache from start to finish, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
I needed a new car and quick, car loans uk did offer that service, however! I work for the ambulance service which made it incredibly difficult getting phone calls and the expectation to get stuff done quick on my end when their end trying to speak to someone is so slow.
They pressured me to pay a deposit before my finance was even confirmed. When I pushed back, they eventually agreed I didn’t need to pay it upfront, but this shouldn’t have been something I had to argue for.
Then there was the £350 admin fee they tried to slip in. They told me this had to be paid directly to the dealer, but when I contacted the dealer myself, they confirmed this was actually a fee Car Loans UK owes them – a cost that should have been included in my overall finance agreement, not dumped on me at the last minute. This kind of hidden charge feels deliberately misleading, as if they were hoping I wouldn’t challenge it.
Next, they completely messed up the collection day. Despite me clearly telling them I could only pick up the car on a Friday, they initially insisted it was arranged for Monday. After pushing back, they eventually admitted I was right and corrected it, but this shouldn’t have been a battle.
When I finally arrived to collect the car, I was left waiting for hours because they hadn’t released the funds. The dealership even mentioned that Car Loans UK said, “He’s not the only one collecting a car today,” as if my time didn’t matter.
To top it off, the collections lady I dealt with was extremely rude – a final, unpleasant note in an already disappointing experience.
It’s clear to me that once they’ve secured their commission, any interest in actually supporting their customers disappears. If you’re considering using Car Loans UK, think twice. Their communication is poor, their priorities are skewed, and the overall experience leaves a lot to be desired. I won’t be using them again.
