Reviews Summary

Based on customer reviews, Camping World’s reputation for RV and camper sales and service is predominantly negative. Reviewers consistently note significant dissatisfaction with both the purchasing process and after-sales support. Issues such as lengthy wait times, missing or misrepresented equipment, poor communication from staff, unresponsive management, unresolved warranty claims, and incomplete or shoddy repairs are repeatedly highlighted. Only one review stands out as clearly positive and references a specific employee’s helpfulness, while all others mention a spectrum of problems or express regret over choosing Camping World for their RV needs.

Common feedback includes widespread frustration with customer service and follow-up support, including ignored phone calls, unreturned emails, and a lack of accountability for warranties and repairs. Customers across multiple US locations report mechanical issues with new and used vehicles, misleading sales practices, and an absence of resolution even after escalating concerns to the corporate office. A single staff member—Deanna at the Anthony, Mexico location—receives praise for efficiency and communication, but this is an exception in the overall pattern.

Overall, Camping World is regarded by reviewers as an unreliable company for RV purchasing and service, with a consistently poor reputation in areas such as Concord, Melbourne, De Forest, Fayetteville, and New Braunfels. Customers in the United States frequently cite unresolved problems, inadequate repair quality, and dissatisfaction with warranties, significantly undermining consumer trust in the brand.

We are very disappointed in our purchase experience with Camping World, Concord NC. We chose this specific location (1.5 hours from home) vs one closer to home because they had the two campers we wanted to compare prior to making a decision to buy. Needless to say, this did not mean we needed to purchase from them which is where it all went wrong. From a 5 hour ordeal on the date of purchase to a 4 hour affair the following day when picking up the camper, to lack of communication and refusal to return an item sold with the camper, they could do much better to expedite and enhance the customer experience. Initially they claimed a spare tire was not sold with the 2025 brand new toy hauler camper we purchased only for it to be found stored beneath a bench when the final walk-through was done on the day of pick up. We already knew it did because we’d done our research. Second, when touring the camper, a moon shade unit that goes over the back porch when down was present and comes standard with the camper, yet was suddenly missing on pick up. Again, they claimed it didn’t come with the camper. Again, we reminded them we’d done our research and knew it did. They said they’d get back to us after calling the manufacturer. They did, but claimed the manufacturer said the shade did not come with the camper. Third, we’ve requested to cancel warranties we purchased. After review of the fine print, they just were not the “deal” presented on the sale date and considering our experience and that most warranty work needs to be done by a CW dealership, doing business in the future with CW just isn’t something we want to do. We are well within the contract allowance to cancel the warranties. So then, how has this CW dealership helped us…Well, we’ve placed several phone calls - no call back. We’ve mailed certified letters to both the dealership and the CW Corporate office requesting a refund on the warranties and return of the moon shade - no response. Mind you we’ve provided written proof from the manufacturer that our camper, confirmed with the VIN, came with the shade. We’ve followed up with an email - no response. Perhaps a review will prompt a response? We shall see. I would not recommend anyone purchase from this dealership much less any Camping World. For as large as they are and the “all-American” persona they market, we errantly assumed we’d be in good hands. It’s been disappointing to say the least. Perhaps this review can spare another customer the experience we have had. We can only hope.

Bought a brand new 390bd zinger from camping world in Melbourne fl, when picking it up we found several issues, the back bumper was dented there are small dent in siding jack stand bent they tried to send me out with the wrong hitch which was grossly under weighted rated for camper. It dry weight is 10700 hitch the tried to put on was max rated 10000. Thank god for a shop tech named Matt he stood his ground i wouldn't leave with that hitch. Manager (Liz or Lisa )she was out there and i tried to explain what was up she snapped at me and when I tried to explain that the camper wasn't even cleaned on the inside she walked away no resolution no attempts to clean or even talk to me about it. Didn't have the right keys to operate any door and when i said something to them i was told to quit playing game and pranking them until the salesman tried them .Talking with sales people and shop technicians this is an on going thing at this store with this management. I will not be returning to this location because of the very poor handling of my final product. Strongly recommend not using this facility to anyone. I wish I just would have went to the other store now in cocoa fl. The manager said these problems were fixed but they were never addressed. Hopefully your cooperate office will look into this location and clean house before they run them out of business. She also total the shop tech to tell me to go home because it was closing time but I live an hour away and had a scheduled appointment for this the tech Matt was very supportive and refused to loose my business and him and shop tech Jarod stayed to get me out at 8pm that night. Management refused to stop and check in situation. Don't just research your camper research your store so you aren't in a bad situation like I was.

I should have read the reviews first! I had a bit of a time the first time I went in for service but figured I would give them the benefit of the doubt since I was a drop-in customer. Decided I would take my motorhome back in for service. It was recommended seven days from being there for a whole month and I will be picking up my motorhome with the same problem that I took it in with however I’ll be paying $2700.00 . They didn’t fix the problem and I will be getting my motorhome back working as it did when I dropped it off. I was quoted $400.00 to fix it and now they want another $1120.00 on top of the $2700.00 to fix the issue I took it in for. I am beyond mad! I could have kept my $2700.00 and continued to use it the way it is now. They have not diagnose the problem they’re playing a guessing game and putting new parts on and charging the customer for the new parts that more than likely weren’t needed. I mean it worked without those parts before just as they are giving it back to me. The part obviously didn’t need to be replaced if it worked the same as when I brought it in! Just an update. Called and emailed the corporate office after they not only charged me $2700.00 they were showing me that my manual part of the hydraulics worked. I mentioned that I heard a motor running and it shouldn’t be once the hydraulics drop down and went back up. They assured me that the technology was doing they were gonna take the RV into the bay to have tech-support. Try to figure out why the hydraulics lifted back up. It’ll call an hour later. They burn my pump up, proceeded to call me and tell me that it would be $3800 along with possibly some hoses that needed to be replaced. I told him no I was gonna take my RV. I had to pay the $2700 only to take my RV off the lot worse than when I took it in they broke things in my RV left garbage in my RV left all my storage bays unlocked and partially open . Glad I checked before I left the lot. A week later or so I get a call from the New Braunsfels camping world after my complaint to offer to fix a $3.00 part that they broke. It will cost me more in gas! Nor will I ever take my RV back to them! PLEASE read the reviews! They do not care about their customers. It’s all about how much money they can swindle out of you!
