Reviews Summary

The overall sentiment regarding American Debt Relief’s credit counseling service is predominantly negative, with reviewers frequently citing issues such as poor communication, lack of timely support, and dissatisfaction with handling creditor relations. While a small number of customers mention helpful representatives and professional conduct during conference calls, most express frustration with limited follow-up and unresolved debt issues. Criticisms of unresponsive customer service and perceived lack of support are consistent themes.

Major complaints center on the company’s operational transparency and the effectiveness of its debt management processes. Several reviewers describe experiences of ongoing creditor harassment, being taken to court despite program participation, and significant credit score declines. Others report feeling misled by initial promises of relief and cite aggressive marketing tactics, including unwanted calls to those not seeking assistance. Only a couple of reviews mention positive interactions with individual staff members, especially around initial enrollment or anxiety reduction.

Based on this feedback, American Debt Relief’s reputation in this sector is challenged by a recurring lack of effective communication, unresolved consumer debt issues, and perceived gaps in case management. While there are rare acknowledgments of knowledgeable staff, the dominant patterns highlight customer dissatisfaction and trust concerns, raising doubts about consistent service reliability and follow-through in their U.S. operations.

I was a little nervous about doing a conference call with you and a creditor. Your agent was very helpful in the preconference before connecting to the creditor. His management of the conference call was magnificent. I appreciate your your professional work. It made me feel very comfortable.

I'm not at all impressed by the way American Debt Relief does their business. I signed up to help rid myself of Credit card debt and the first call was great, but after you sign up you never hear from them again. And don't try to call because all that will happen is you will be on hold for at least an hour then it asks you to leave your Name and account number and they will call you back, well don't sit by your phone waiting for that call because you never get one. Unsatisfied customer here.

Terrible, don’t use them, they’ll charge you before they pay the creditors about a third of what the settlement is for then procrastinate on getting you a settlement for months. I left them after loosing close to 20k plus to them. I had gotten a lawyer for my other credit cards who charged me less than a tenth of what they charge and settled in just a couple of weeks. To me they just steal money from gullible people like myself making you think they’re the best option. Run as far away from them as you can and just talk to a debt lawyer.
