Horrible experience with them I should have gone with another provider. Promised no out of pocket for tree removal then was told they would pay the tree company directly. Then they said won't pay tree company till project done and service turned on. Their I was promised reimbursement because I had to pay the tree company. They shorted me on reimbursement. Roofing division shot 2 nails through the ceiling and they refused to pay for repairs, cracked ceiling in the living room and refused to pay for repairs, 2 bulbs from kitchen ceiling broke and they refused to pay for the replacement, cracked window on outside of kitchen and refused to pay for repair. Account payable nor anyone in the company will return calls. In addition, pieces of plastic strips still flap from under the shingles and Noone has come out to fix it even after telling the sales person, roofing manager and a rep who called me. When I found metal clips laying on the floor a week after installation I called Trinity about them and was told, "Those are wire clips just throw them out." I asked if someone can reinstall them I was again told to throw them out. As of today, I still have not received full reimbursement for tree removal as promised, have not received referral payment as promised. I feel like the only way to be paid is by having to litigate the charges. Look for another company

*Review edit. Just were informed that the cost of removing the system and re-installing it would be more than the system is now able to provide, and we are still paying it off. We are outside of the warranty period, but not looking for warranty work. We were looking to have the service done that we were promised when we installed the system. If my business made a promise to a customer, I wouldn't care if I no longer did that specific type of work. I would make it right. Trinity will not do that. Had over 250 panels installed on our business quite a while ago. We had been very happy with their service and work. When we had the panels installed, we were told by them if we ever needed roofing work done, they would come out, remove the panels while the work was being done, and then re-install them afterwards. We are now looking to get roofing work done so we called Trinity. We were told that they no longer do commercial work. We asked who they passed their commercial work on to and they said nobody. We asked who they recommend for this type of work and they said they don't recommend anybody. We asked what should we do, and they said "maybe call an electrician." When we first did this very large solar job with Trinity, we thought we were dealing with a reputable company. Apparently, we should have gotten everything written out in a contract, because otherwise you are on your own. We had been displaying signs prominently in our business recommending Trinity for solar work, but those signs are now going in the trash. And if someone asks for a solar recommendation, my answer will be, "we don't recommend anybody."

About eight years ago, we built a new home on the Connecticut shoreline. Over the years we have looked at solar energy from multiple companies; but each time I did the analysis, it did not make sense to install solar. More recently, the cost of electricity has gone up dramatically, and I revisited solar energy proposals from several companies; and for a plethora of reasons, decided to move forward with Trinity Solar. One of my neighbors recommended Trinity and Nelly Morris (sales representative) because he was very pleased with both the product and level of service. After speaking in detail with Nelly over the phone, I requested and received a copy of the proposed contract, which we approved in 48 hours. Over the next three months, Nelly guided us through every phase of the project; permitting, installation, zoning, and approvals. The project was finished in timely fashion, and the solar system has worked flawlessly for the past four months. I had no out-of-pocket expense, and the cost of electricity per kilowatt hour has gone down very significantly. All in all, I am extremely pleased with Trinity Solar and the sales representative, Nelly Morris, whom I would best describe as a project manager. I strongly recommend Trinity Solar, and in particular Nelly Morris.

Reviews Summary

Reviewers have a mixed view of Trinity Solar, with strong opinions on both ends of the spectrum. Negative comments frequently discuss missed service promises, unresolved damage after installation, disappointing post-sales support, and lack of follow-through on reimbursements and incentives. However, several customers highlight attentive, knowledgeable representatives and smooth project execution, especially when staff like Nelly Morris, Christine S., Tony Roach, Casey Snyder, and Shane are mentioned by name. Reliability issues and communication gaps post-installation are recurring criticisms but do not represent every experience.

The most common positive themes involve detailed guidance, expert knowledge, and supportive communication from dedicated staff, oftentimes referring to specific sales or project managers who kept clients updated and made the process less daunting. Customers value the installation quality, clear education on solar benefits, and the significant electricity savings post-installation. Negative patterns cluster around post-project support, lingering issues with equipment or promised financial arrangements, and a sense that written contracts are essential for accountability.

Overall, Trinity Solar is regarded as a company delivering strong expertise and a smooth process for many residential solar customers, especially across Connecticut and Bergen County. While project handling and staff interaction often receive praise, concerns about service follow-through and problem resolution persist, especially for commercial projects or warranty situations. The business's reputation in the region is shaped by these mixed—but sometimes highly positive—customer experiences.
