Reviews Summary

The overall sentiment for The Range, a homewares and general goods retailer, appears to be mixed, with both positive and negative experiences reflected in customer reviews. Several reviewers encountered significant frustrations related to online orders, customer communication, and refund processes, especially when dealing with third-party suppliers. Some described the resolution process as difficult and cited problems with delayed deliveries, product quality, and ineffective customer service systems. However, other customers noted helpful and friendly staff in physical stores.

Common themes across the reviews highlight the sheer variety and scale of The Range’s offerings, with particular mention of well-stocked inventory for home, garden, and seasonal needs, as well as in-store experiences enhanced by polite and attentive staff. Nevertheless, operational weaknesses surface in interaction with customer support and store amenities, with reported lapses in communication, management, and the cleanliness of facilities like restrooms and the coffee shop.

Overall, The Range holds a reputation in the Bournemouth region as a comprehensive retail destination, especially for those seeking a wide selection and accessible location. The in-store experience, including staff helpfulness and product choice, tends to be rated positively, while the online experience and after-sales processes are clearly a pain point. Local shoppers seeking convenience frequently return, though online customers may need to manage expectations regarding support and third-party supplier issues.

DO NOT PURCHASE A SHED THROUGH THE RANGE IF SUPPLIED BY BILLYOH!!!!! Ordered a shed through The Range, there was no communication when trying to contact about delivery that was late. The craftsmanship of billy oh who supplied the shed is absolutely shocking and unfortunately The Range are promoting this company, I’ve since emailed about the problem of broken pieces that was supplied but no reply received. Unfortunately it’s cost me extra for materials on top of what I paid for the shed to at least finish it.

I placed an order at The Range store in Bournemouth for a Bistro set of outdoor furniture (2 chairs & a table. £149.99) which I had hoped I could enjoy during a particularly warm spell of weather. I was told delivery would be 7-10 days from order being placed. After 10 days and no delivery I attempted contact with the store by phone which proved impossible. So I went to the store (5 miles) and spoke to an assistant, who after making a call informed me they had no idea what had happened to my order but would call me the following day when they had some information. They didn’t call me as promised so from then on I communicated with their customer care service by email. Long story short, after a series of emails back and forth they admitted the order had been sent to the wrong depot, then they confessed that the courier had lost the goods. By this time it is 21 days since I paid for the item so I chose to ask for a full refund. You would think that they would find this simple and fair to do, but The Range isn’t into being fair to disappointed customers, because their “system” couldn’t work this out and was treating my case as a “returned item” which of course it wasn’t as I hadn’t received it in the first place! Note; by treating the goods as a “return” they couldn’t actually issue a refund until they had received the returned goods, but, they were “lost” in transit so this could go on and on and I would never receive a refund I was thinking. So, in desperation I got in touch with Barclaycard who will, I am sure, obtain a full refund on my behalf. The Range appears to be totally out of touch with reality in the modern world of retail. Hopeless.

Well stocked Superstore with a huge variety of items for house and garden. Also, an Iceland section offering fresh and frozen food. Huge car park on an easily accessible site close to Bournemouth and Poole.
