The price was extremely competitive and Solar Together were very good. We checked the review for the installer who won the contract before we signed up to check that they were OK as well. The installer rushed the survey which simply seemed to be a measuring exercise with a drone. They then wanted to charge us extra for looking at the roof and making sure it was suitable for solar panels - I pointed out that that was supposed to have been done in the survey they had conducted and that the surveyor seemed to have no idea of the issues that having a slate roof on a very old cottage might cause. TBF they then sent out their special slate roof installers and the process could not have been more smooth. We had a minor problem with the recording equipment after six months and ST sorted it out quickly and all is now good. The app is particularly helpful to see useage and is easy to use.

Review rating speaks for itself. This is a terrible concept, I work in the industry and am yet to meet someone in person who was entirely happy with solar together. To get a good service, workmanship and quality equipment naturally comes with higher costs. What do you think the installers are doing when they are having to drop prices to the floor to get the install through solar together? Cutting costs using cheaper materials/equipment, on an extremely tight budget so rushing the jobs to get in and out quickly to the next one. If you want an install you can truly trust in I would avoid solar together like the plague, it may look appealing on face value but it's basically a gamble what you'll end up with, and if your not educated enough to notice certain things they may be doing to cut the costs, you have even higher chance of ending up with a sub par installation. There is one example directly below this review, In the photo below you will see a storage battery that has been clearly installed in a loft/roof space which is against the new British Standard PAS 63100:2024.

Relatively simple process. Good final quote that we were able to adjust (add two more panels) and simple installation that took less than 4 hours on the day. The communications could have been a bit better - everything worked but it would be good to get interim update that everything is going to plan etc. Also handover docs need to be explained prior to leaving the house. Still worth it though. Most recommended!
