This is some text inside of a div block.
Went to lake ridge location and had a cat scan. They call an hour later telling me to go to ER now! as the Appendix was swollen . So we go to the ER wait 30 minutes to check in. And why is triage done there in front of everyone in ER so now I know what everyone is there for. We explain why the DR sent us here. Then we wait. So it is now 7 and shift change. Nothing happens no one being brought back, but we have the pleasure in our pain to hear lots of laughter and carrying on every time the door to the treatment floor open. We now have been here for 2 hrs. And if you ask anyone working there the response 2 times was “two hours your lucky and it’s not to busy”. Are you kidding me when your own people think that’s a good response or entertaining? So finally we drove to Fairfax which took care of us immediately. Triage was done in the in back privately.

Had my ultrasound done by Gigi today, she was very kind and welcoming. Spoke to me through the steps of what she was doing and looking for. I love coming here. All the staff that has worked on me or with me have been amazing. I appreciate all their hard work and dedication. Especially through pregnancy. Thank you Sentara L&D and Radiology! Your hard work never goes unnoticed 😊

I had a very smooth and seamless experience getting a pregnancy ultrasound (NT scan). I arrived 30 minutes prior to my appointment like instructed, and was directed to the information desk where I was checked in right away. I only had to wait 10 minutes before Ashani did my intake and walked me to radiology, and from there I only waited maybe another 10-15 minutes before I was called back. In both areas, the waiting rooms were clean and comfortable. Gigi did my ultrasound for me and it was an amazing experience. I had an NT scan with my first son, but it wasn’t anything like this. I really appreciated Gigi pointing out all the different parts of my baby’s body to me, and after taking the necessary measurements, taking the time to show me some really great views of my baby… and printing out all the pictures so I can share them with my family and have them as a keepsake. Thank you so much!

Reviews Summary

Sentara Medical Center and Hospital receives a generally positive reputation in patient reviews, with frequent mentions of staff professionalism, kindness, and efficient care. Multiple customers express gratitude for specific staff, such as ultrasound technician Gigi and doctors who are described as attentive and supportive. Positive remarks focus on the clarity of explanations, smooth scheduling processes, and comfortable facilities. Criticisms, however, point toward issues in the emergency room, including long wait times, lack of urgency, and dissatisfaction with the triage process.

The most common themes reflected in reviews are the high standard of care provided during radiology and ultrasound visits, patients feeling listened to, and thoroughness by specialists such as Dr. Razavi and Dr. Sinclair. Patients in areas like surgery and routine scans praise the staff for compassionate behavior, efficiency, and meaningful communication. In contrast, frustration centers exclusively on the ER, where reviewers report negative experiences with response times and transparency.

Overall, Sentara Medical Center and Hospital stands out in the region for its strong outcomes in routine care, patient interactions, and procedural effectiveness, particularly outside the emergency department. Its reputation in the local healthcare landscape remains solid, especially among those experiencing pregnancy, surgery, or diagnostic procedures, despite notable concerns about emergency department workflows.
