This is some text inside of a div block.
Hands down the worst company we have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Despite setting up a payment plan for outstanding invoices that they claim were sent but never received, a letter from a debt collection agency arrived a month after the plan was set up and the first payment was taken. This is not the first time we've had issues with PPL/PRS but they are an absolute shambles of an organisation.

We received an invoice on Tuesday and a final demand on Wednesday — both for different amounts — from PPL PRS, claiming royalty payments for music on hold. Our telecoms and on-hold music are managed entirely by a third-party provider who exclusively uses royalty-free tracks. Despite multiple calls, emails, and now formal letters instructing you to liaise directly with our telecoms provider, you continue to pursue us with aggressive and inconsistent billing. After reading numerous similar experiences online, it’s clear that this appears to be part of a concerning pattern of intimidation tactics used to pressure businesses into paying fees they may not owe. To be clear: We do not use licensed music. Our telecoms are externally managed. You have failed to even correctly identify the music supplier. We will not waste further time on hold or corresponding with a system that has proven to be uncooperative and incorrect in its approach. Any further threats of legal or enforcement action will be documented and reported. For the record, we are located adjacent to a police station and have a full dossier of evidence and correspondence should this situation escalate. We urge you to conduct proper due diligence before issuing any more communications. Do not contact us again unless it is to confirm the closure of this matter. See you soon x

I’m not surprised this business is so poorly thought of by its customers who do actually play music, because it spends all its time harassing those of us who do not, have not, and will never, play music in our premises. Perhaps it should concentrate on its actual customers rather than its bizarre witch hunt on those of us who cannot stand the endless noise of music in retail and therefore chose not to have it whatsoever! I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a company with such woeful reviews as this one, which is a truly remarkable feat.

Reviews Summary

Based on a comprehensive review of customer feedback, sentiment toward PPL PRS Ltd, a music licensing company, is overwhelmingly negative. Reviewers consistently note recurring issues such as unclear billing, aggressive communication, and the pursuit of royalties from businesses not playing licensed music. Several mention poor responsiveness, harassment, and the use of debt collectors as notable ongoing concerns.

Common feedback includes aggressive or intimidating billing tactics, inconsistent invoice amounts, and difficulty resolving disputes—especially for businesses that claim no music usage or use royalty-free tracks. Multiple reviewers highlight repeated stress caused by disjointed customer service, surprise surcharges, and unaddressed cancellations. Both short- and long-term clients report challenges with address changes, inaccurate legacy accounts, and ongoing legal threats. There is a notable absence of positive statements about the service, with no mention of efficiency, resolution, or professionalism.

Overall, PPL PRS Ltd is regarded as a high-risk provider of music licensing services, particularly across the UK, with a reputation for aggressive fee collection, unsatisfactory dispute handling, and customer distress. There is little to no evidence of trust-building behaviors or positive service interactions in customer testimonials.
