Lickey Hills Golf Course's customer reviews analysis

The overall reputation of Lickey Hills Golf Course appears largely positive based on the latest reviews. The course is notably appreciated for its well-maintained greens and varied landscape, offering a mixture of challenge and pleasure to golf enthusiasts. Ground staff receive commendation for their tireless efforts in maintaining the course, suggesting a commitment to providing a high-quality golfing experience. The setting of the course is repeatedly mentioned, highlighting excellent views and the pleasantness of the surrounding Lickey Hills country park. However, a few concerns have been raised about the quality of the greens following adverse weather conditions, hinting at potential lapses in playability at times. While the golf course is praised for its condition and the challenge it presents, the clubhouse facilities do not seem to be a significant draw for the reviewers. Overall, customer experience is rated highly not just for the golfing aspect but also for the auxiliary services like walking trails, dog-friendliness, and the onsite cafe which contributes to a diversified appeal of the venue.

Positive Feedback

Positive aspects gleaned from customer feedback focus on the excellent condition and aesthetic appeal of Lickey Hills Golf Course. The staff are lauded for their friendliness and diligence in maintaining the course well, creating an inviting atmosphere for golfers. The terrain is regularly mentioned as providing a challenging but enjoyable game, complete with picturesque views and strategically interesting holes, notably the acclaimed Par 3 eighth hole. Customers also relish the multipurpose nature of the surroundings, with non-golfers enjoying the walking paths and the opportunity to relax in the cafe, which offers commendable food and service. These attributes underscore the course's ability not only to cater to golfers but also to visitors who are looking for outdoor leisure activities.

Concerns and Threads

Despite the generally positive feedback, there are several key negative aspects mentioned in customer reviews. Some golfers have experienced the greens as being in less than ideal condition, particularly following bad weather, which has impacted their game. A few visitors have noted the course to be soggy and wet at times, suggesting that drainage may be an issue that needs addressing. While the course is praised for its design and challenge, the lack of a substantial clubhouse has also been remarked upon, and could reflect a missed opportunity for enhancing the overall visitor experience. Moreover, the potential dangers posed by stray golf balls to other park users indicate the need for perhaps greater safety measures or clear demarcation between the golf course and public walking areas.

Golf course is in great shape. Always a friendly welcome in the club shop and ground staff work tirelessly to get the course in the best condition they can. I just wish the other mytime courses were as proactive....

Attached to the Lickey Hills country park, another huge amount of land. Numerous golf holes around the acres of this course. The sand pits and the Greenland seem well maintained although obviously from a lot of use there is a few holes from the golf clubs. If you don't fancy playing golf it also makes a great walk but you will have to stick to the edges. Dogs are allowed here as well kept under control. There is a car park at the entrance and if you walk a long the edge you will come to the cafe and seating area so you can grab drinks and something to eat here as well.

Haven't played the course for 20+ years, maybe nostalgic but I loved it, soggy and wet after all the rain, greens were shocking but the setting and challenge was so good, when in good condition this course is a test for the best of players.
