⭐☆☆☆☆ Very disappointing experience. This company feels dishonest. They charged me £94 after a free trial where I created just one document, without any clear notice or communication. Customer service was unhelpful and dismissive. Emails go unanswered, the phone line is oddly closed before 1pm, and their live chat ends the conversation without waiting for your reply. Even after requesting a refund, they refused. It seems designed to catch people out and profit through silence. I would strongly advise others to avoid using this service. Absolute scammers!

Claimed to be free, absolute scam!!!! Spent about an hour completing the draft will thinking I could download it at the end, and print it off. It states clearly FREE WILL SERVICE on the website, but when I got to the end of filling the information in on the will template, they asked for a subscription fee. They have a free version on their website, but that's a trial period. The thing is, if they were up front about their fees, I probably would've signed up. It's a shocking way to try and get money out of people, in my opinion. Shame on you, LawDepot!!!

I’ve used law depot on several occasions, the first time with a free trial, I cancelled it as I only needed the one document and I was not charged. As long as you cancel well within the 7 days you won’t be charged. Because the experience creating my document was so an easy and effortless I have used them for several document since, I pay the one off £35 for each individual document and can access the document and edit for up to 5 years. I think this is the idea behind the free trial, use it and then you’ll go back to them when needed. Works great for me. Easy to use and alter to your own requirements. I can’t comment on customer service as I’ve never needed to call.

Reviews Summary

Customer feedback for LawDepot’s legal document services is overwhelmingly negative. Most reviewers report dissatisfaction, focusing on unexpected charges following the free trial, lack of transparency regarding subscription fees, and significant issues with customer service responsiveness. While one customer found the pay-per-document option straightforward and satisfactory, the majority express frustration over unclear billing practices and difficulties obtaining refunds. Complaints about website downtime and limited customer support availability are also prominent.

The most common theme in reviews is a lack of clear communication about pricing, with several users reporting feeling misled by the promise of a 'free will service.' Many describe discovering charges only after completing documents, or encountering barriers when trying to cancel subscriptions. Reports of unresponsive email, phone lines closing early, and live chat sessions ending prematurely reinforce perceptions of poor support. Some mention technical issues with the website, impeding attempts to cancel in time.

Overall, LawDepot’s reputation, particularly in the UK, is severely damaged by widespread perceptions of misleading advertising, unexpected charges, and unhelpful customer service. While there is one mention of a positive user experience, the trust deficit and prevalence of billing and support complaints suggest significant issues with reliability and transparency in their online legal services. Caution is advised for prospective users in this sector.
