Severely Damaged My Skin — Use With Caution I used a personalized Dermatica formula and experienced one of the worst skin reactons I’ve ever had. Within days, my skin became painfully red, burning, and cracked, especially around sensitive areas like my eyes and mouth. Despite knowing some dryness or irritation can be “normal,” this reaction kept worsening, spreading to areas I hadn’t applied the product to. I stopped using it and tried to soothe my skin with gentle products (like aloe, niacinamide, and eczema creams), but nothing helped — everything stung or made it worse. I had to book a doctor’s appointment due to swelling, pain, cracking, and chemical burns and was told my skin barrier had been severely compromised. I understand that active ingredients can cause adjustment reactions and I understand there was a warning about side effects, but I believe the formula I received was too strong for my skin or wasn’t properly tailored to my sensitivity. The lack of a safe introductory phase or better guidance made things worse. If you’re considering Dermatica, especially if you have sensitive or reactive skin, be very cautious. I wouldn’t wish this kind of pain or damage on anyone, and I’ll be extremely careful before trusting another personalized skincare service.

I bought Dermatica as I wanted to get rid of age spots on my face. I went through the consultation and bought the prescription which was made for me. I also bought other products which cost £47 in total. This was the worst thing I ever did! I used it exactly as recommended according to the instructions and persevered for 3 days. I am now left with a badly burnt and very dry face and neck and had given me hives. It feels as if my skin in on fire and is extremely red. I keep bathing my face in tepid water to sooth it, the only thing that is helping me is Vaseline to help put moisture back into my skin. I am paying dearly for trying something different and I’m out of pocket. I will stick to my old face creams in future and sod the age spots!

Worryingly you do not deal with dermatologist! The person I questioned the recommended cream asked rather strange questions that you would expect a professional to know. I asked who am I speaking to as the title wasn't on their signature, another person answered and said they are pharmacists with an interest in dermatology. This is clearly misleading, for a complicated condition you would expect to be dealt with by a qualified dermatologist who has the relevant training and years of experience in their field. I would be weary and take their advice with a pinch of salt! I'm shocked at the contradictory advice given when I have dealt with many dermatologist who have given matching advice for years!!

Reviews Summary

The overall sentiment toward Dermatica’s skincare service is predominantly negative among reviewers. Customers frequently mention adverse skin reactions, with several reports of burning, redness, and irritation, even after following instructions. There are multiple complaints regarding the lack of professional dermatological oversight, as users were surprised to interact with pharmacists instead of dermatologists, undermining trust in the company’s expertise. Positive feedback is rare, with only a single user reporting satisfaction and improved skin, but this is far outweighed by critical reviews.

Common feedback includes significant concerns about product safety, with many users specifically warning about severe reactions, especially for those with sensitive skin or conditions like rosacea. Operational issues are also raised, such as unhelpful or inflexible customer service, unclear subscription renewal processes, and a perception that financial practices prioritize sales over customer well-being. Misleading claims in advertising and poor response rates to queries after purchase are persistent themes.

Overall, Dermatica is regarded by reviewers as a high-risk option for skincare, particularly for sensitive individuals. The company’s reputation is negatively impacted by recurring reports of harmful outcomes and procedural dissatisfaction. The few positive comments do not counterbalance the broad distrust and disappointment expressed by the majority of customers.
