Bayton Jon rated Cordell & Cordell - Divorce Attorney Office 1 stars
Edited 2 months ago
This is my opinion and experience using them, but I wanted other to know what could happen to as well. My divorce was what you call amicable, we were not fighting, agreed to everything, I didn't even need to have her served because I just handed it to her to sign. It was possibly the easiest divorce ever in the history of divorces. All I needed Cordell & Cordell to do was draw up the papers with legal verbiage and submit it to the state of Utah. After my bill reached $4800 out of nowhere, I decided to ask my attorney what happened and why. Here is the answer I got "we have done everything the state of Utah wants, if you feel you can do it better than we can withdraw as your attorney, and you can submit it yourself". I was not expecting this at all! I would avoid them at all costs, they care about money more than you as a client, they have lied in their ads to the public, they see you as a number, they just don't care. Get a mediator, do it online, go somewhere else, but whatever you do never use Cordell & Cordell.
Just a word of advice, an automated reply that calls me by my last name as my first name doesn't show that anyone cares. Spoke with a customer service lady who assured me that since she was a lawyer in the past, she is amazing, nothing came of it, and no one has replied. Like I said before, run from this company, do it urself online or with a mediator.
