Ideally positioned for a trip to Belfast. Easy to use. Security is very friendly and efficient. Waiting area with good visibility of planes coming and going. Lots of seats while you wait. Runway is smooth... What else is there to say about an airport! Loos are clean. Plenty of screens about showing departures.

George Best Belfast City Airport (BHD) consistently earns praise for its convenience, efficiency, and friendly atmosphere. While it's a smaller airport compared to its international counterpart, its compact size is often cited as a major advantage, making for a generally smooth and stress-free travel experience. One of BHD's strongest suits is its exceptional location, just a five-minute drive from Belfast city centre. This makes it incredibly easy for both arriving and departing passengers to access the heart of the city. Public transport links are good and facilities and amenities are more limited than larger hubs, but it generally provides what's needed for a comfortable pre-flight experience. The main retail offerings include a World Duty Free shop, offering a good selection of cosmetics, fragrances, spirits, and local products, and WHSmith, for travel essentials, books, and snacks. While not extensive, it covers the basics. A decent selection of cafes and bars are available both landside and airside. Options include Caffè Nero, Starbucks and many more. BHD remains a highly favored option for those traveling to and from Belfast, especially for short-haul flights. Its ease of access to the city center and generally efficient operations make it a strong contender for Northern Ireland's most convenient airport.
