Reviews Summary

The overall sentiment toward Wickes, a building materials supplier, is mixed but leans negative based on recent customer reviews. Many reviewers remark on challenges with both product quality and customer service, especially in cases requiring warranty resolution or refunds. Some positive experiences are noted, particularly involving friendly and helpful staff during in-store visits, but these are often overshadowed by frustrations around unresolved complaints, unhelpful support, and quality concerns.

Common feedback includes difficulties obtaining satisfactory solutions for product defects, delayed refunds, and issues with order fulfillment. Several reviewers describe the service as unresponsive, with staff sometimes perceived as rude or indifferent during problem resolution. However, others point to seamless shopping, helpful interactions—specifically mentioning staff members like Samuel in Ealing—and easy returns as highlights of their experience. Product quality appears inconsistent, with timber and flooring singled out for defects in multiple reviews.

Overall, Wickes in London is regarded as a supplier with convenient offerings and some helpful staff, but with a reputation negatively affected by handling of complaints and inconsistent product quality. Customers in the London area should weigh potential savings and convenience against these recurring concerns with service and reliability.

I am deeply disappointed with Wickes' handling of a recent issue. I purchased engineered wood flooring for a client project, and after installation, discoloration occurred in the kitchen area. Despite the product being advertised as suitable for underfloor heating, the discoloration appears to be a result of a defect. The customer service experience was frustrating and far from helpful. After reaching out, I was directed to the manufacturer, Woodpecker Flooring, for advice. The solution they offered was to attempt treatments such as hydrogen peroxide and bleach, which is not an acceptable or practical fix for a product that was sold with a warranty. What’s most concerning is the lack of urgency or responsibility taken by Wickes in resolving the issue. Instead of offering a clear resolution, I was left waiting and dealing with a series of ineffective suggestions. I’m now in a position where I will need to reorder the same product at my own expense to address the problem for my client. While I understand that warranty terms exist, the customer service I received was disappointing, and I feel that Wickes could have done much more to support its customers. For anyone considering purchasing from Wickes, I would recommend being cautious, as their warranty and support system fell short in this instance. I hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision.

I ordered a Kärcher K5 Pressure Washer, but what arrived was a K2 Compact in a badly re-taped, previously opened box. Inside, everything was covered in dust, and several parts were missing. Clearly, this was not the new product I paid for. To make matters worse, after waiting in all day for delivery, customer service was unhelpful and reluctant to offer any real resolution. I had to argue just to get free delivery as compensation, which hardly makes up for the hassle. Overall, a frustrating and disappointing experience. Next time, I’ll be buying from Toolstation instead!

Decent collection, friendly prices. I was looking for a kitchen. Unfortunately, price information not available, no one to answer simple questions. The only answer I received was - ‘sorry no staff today’ Edit 1: although I was not happy the first time I visited wickes, I am very happy about the subsequent visits. Helpful staff, lot of choice, seamless collection and return options.
