Overall, customer feedback for the Royal Free Hospital in London reveals a predominantly positive sentiment, with strong appreciation for the professionalism, compassion, and dedication of the medical and ancillary staff. Reviewers repeatedly highlight staff kindness—nurses and doctors are often named for their attentive approach—and staff in specialized wards, such as the Neonatal Unit, are recognized for high competency and emotional support. A minority of experiences, primarily in urgent and walk-in units, include frustrations with long wait times and instances of perceived inattentiveness or rudeness, especially when the system is under pressure.

Common feedback themes center on quality of care, staff professionalism, and the organization of departments ranging from catering to radiology. Smooth processes for routine procedures, ability to accommodate urgent needs, and clean facilities are all noted as benefits by patients and their families. It’s frustrating to see how stretched NHS emergency services have become. Waiting 4-6 hours, even for a baby in distress, raises serious concerns about what “emergency” really means in these situations. I arrived at the hospital around 6 AM because my daughter had been vomiting excessively—around 14-20 times within just three hours. Every time we tried to feed her milk, she would start vomiting again. Naturally, as a parent, I was deeply worried. However, despite it being an emergency, we had to wait for 5 hours to see a doctor. While I understand that hospitals are under pressure, the lack of urgency in situations like this is concerning. If there aren’t enough doctors or nurses, perhaps recruiting from abroad should be considered. The NHS staff on duty didn’t seem particularly attentive to the distress of patients and their families, which only added to the frustration. The UK’s healthcare system is undeniably struggling, and experiences like this make it clear that improvements are urgently needed. Emergency care should truly mean immediate attention, especially for vulnerable patients like infants.

Dear Staff and Doctors at the Royal Free Hospital, I was admitted last week and wanted to personally thank you all for the excellent care I received during my stay. I was in Ward 7 North, Bed 24, and from the moment I arrived, everyone looked after me with great kindness and professionalism. Although the wait was long, it was truly worth it. The doctors, nurses, and all the staff were incredibly helpful, attentive, and supportive. Even the food and overall service exceeded my expectations. I’m sincerely grateful for everything you did for me, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you.

It's really well organised. I was there for the routine blood tests (blood count+vitamins), in at 11:10, out at 11:18, everything went quickly and smoothly; all paperwork is done electronically, so there is no hassle.
