Reviews Summary

Customer feedback for Junction 17, a used car dealership in Peterborough and Rugby, reflects a strongly mixed, often negative overall sentiment regarding service reliability and vehicle quality. Reviewers frequently highlight flawed post-sale support, unresolved safety issues, and vehicles not meeting advertised standards. Complaints often mention unaddressed mechanical faults, unprofessional sales staff, misleading practices around fees, and lack of timely resolution, though a handful of reviewers note helpful and friendly staff interactions. Some describe positive sales experiences with specific employees, but critiques of aftercare and product integrity persist.

Consistent themes include problems with car condition upon delivery and unfulfilled promises regarding repairs or features; multiple reviewers cite mechanical faults or incomplete documentation. Fee transparency and accurate vehicle representation are recurring concerns, while isolated cases praise clear communication and an efficient transaction process, particularly at the Rugby branch. Any exceptional service appears dependent on individual staff rather than company-wide standards.

Overall, Junction 17’s reputation in the Peterborough and Rugby regions is marred by recurring service and quality control issues, despite select testimonials complimenting personal staff effort and smooth transactions. The prevailing narrative from customer reviews suggests concerns with consistency, honesty, and aftercare, placing buyer caution as a central takeaway for potential clients in these areas.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Collected my low mileage Mustang on 10/04/25 ----- Travelled from Glasgow to collect the car from Peterborough. I financed with an external broker so had to swallow the dealerships £599 admin fee. Upon arrival I inspected the vehicle myself. Front bumper had a terrible respray with runs all over it, rear tyres were just on the limit and font nearside wheel had been damaged and not repaired. I was willing to look past all this and take it on the chin as this was the car I wanted and I know a preowned car can't be perfect. ----- Signed all the paperwork over, taxed the car and was ready to drive off. Then... I put some items and the boot and the rear spoiler was hanging on with one bolt, it was unsafe to drive home in this condition so they botched it together as best they could. The car also came with a generous 2 miles in the tank. I drove 350 miles home well under the limit as the spoiler was still hanging off. I wasn't going to take the car, but I didn't have a choice, the car was in my name and I had to get to work in the morning. They agreed to transfer me "£200 immediately to help with the repairs", that was 5 days ago and I'm not holding out hope for that. I was in the dealership for 3.5 hours for what should have been signing paperwork and driving off. ----- Upon getting home and checking over the car myself, I had an MOT report from the car which pointed out some advisories, all of which are still present including a nail in the tyre and rear brake disc is severely worn and weakened. Not noted on the MOT (which the car passed 5 miles before I collected it) was the 2 severely worn wiper blades. ----- I've attached some photos from myself and the dealer to back up my claims. Please buy your cars from somewhere that cares about Safety and Quality. Not Junction 17. Update: 5 DAYS LATER. THEY’VE SINCE BEEN IN TOUCH, OFFERED THE £200 ONLY IF I REMOVE MY REVIEW. The £200 that was previously (reluctantly) agreed on, now with new terms. UPDATE: 23/04/25 Turns out they didn’t complete the new keeper transfer, I’ve been driving the car in someone else’s name ! I’ve been waiting on the new V5 to put a private plate on the car and checked the DVLA website… surprise surprise. I had to process the V5 myself yesterday ! Thanks, Dave..

1 Star – I Could’ve Died – Engine Smoking, Lied to Repeatedly. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. I travelled three separate times to Peterborough after leaving a deposit on a 2015 BMW 435d. Every single time, I was promised the car was ready and fixed, and every time, it wasn’t. After each test drive, the engine was visibly smoking due to a leaking injector — a serious and dangerous fault. They kept telling me it was fixed, hoping it wouldn’t show up again on the next drive. Imagine if I had taken that car home — it could’ve gone up in flames while I was driving. I could’ve lost my life because of their negligence. That’s how serious this was. The salesman, Phillip, was by far the worst person I’ve ever dealt with. He didn’t help once. He didn’t speak to the team, he ignored my concerns, and when I showed him the engine smoking, he literally walked off. I had to find the manager myself. When I asked Phillip why I had to go get the manager, his excuse? “I went to the toilet”… after watching the engine smoke. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. They knowingly tried to sell me a dangerous car and hoped I wouldn’t notice. Do not trust them. Do not deal with them. And do not risk your life. Avoid this place at all costs.

I recently bought a ford mustang from junction 17s Rugby branch and was thoroughly impressed by the outstanding level of customer service provided throughout the entire process. From the outset, I was assisted with Tallia the receptionist who promptly shared additional information and a detailed walk-around video of the vehicle which was an especially helpful gesture given the distance I was travelling. Upon arrival, I was met at the train station by Nathan, the sales representative, who kindly offered a lift to the dealership, saving me the inconvenience of public transport. The car was exactly as described, immaculately presented and in excellent condition and I was able to drive away the same day. The purchase process was efficient, straightforward and hassle free, with the team demonstrating professionalism and attentiveness both before and after the sale. I would highly recommend junction 17 to anyone seeking a quality vehicle and exceptional service and I will certainly purchase from them again in the future. Thanks again. Ryan
