Reviews Summary

The overall sentiment toward Gordon Brown Law's conveyancing services is mixed, with notable divergence in customer experiences. Reviewers consistently highlight issues around communication delays, lack of responsiveness, and frequent administrative errors as sources of frustration, especially during time-sensitive property transactions. Several reports cite missed deadlines, unreturned calls, or incomplete customer support, with individual conveyancers singled out for both negative and positive performance. However, specific team members such as Craig, Joanne Reid, Katherine Palmer, and Kellie Longstaff receive direct praise for their dedication and effective communication, demonstrating that outcomes can be highly dependent on the assigned solicitor.

Frequent themes in feedback include challenges with timely case updates, accuracy of documentation, and complaint handling. Positive reviews focus on standout staff who manage expectations realistically and maintain clear, thorough updates. On the negative side, repeated references to ignored emails, unnotified absences, and feeling undervalued as clients suggest ongoing gaps in consistency and accountability throughout the firm. Cost disputes and billing transparency issues were also flagged in a minority of reviews.

In summary, Gordon Brown Law has a reputation for variable service quality in conveyancing, with experiences hinging strongly on the individual solicitor handling each case. While some clients express high satisfaction—often becoming repeat customers—many others report unresolved frustrations in communication and process reliability. For property buyers and sellers in the UK, particularly those referred through brokers, careful vetting of personnel may be advised.

Gordon Brown Law were recommended by Money Supermarket, however on instruction, we heard nothing more from Gordon Brown. Even when I tried to call their offices the phone was not answered. We ended up going with a local solicitor - slightly more expensive, but that's the cost for peace of mind and reliability when buying a property. Also makes me question the quality of partners that feature on Money Supermarket website.

Still going through the most horrendous experience of my life with GB Law. Original expected completion date was 9th May and still not sorted. Fair enough there was a couple of issues to iron out but not to justify this wait and tbh our primal conveyancer had no idea what she was doing and has now gone on the sick…bless her. I had a great conversation with her replacement last Monday and she filled me with a lot of confidence that she would get this through in days but again no joy and to rub salt in the wound she is ignoring my emails and those from our building society. I have had to break the chain and sell my property at a cost of £1080 due to being in a mortgage deal but had I not my buyer would have pulled out! I was overcharged by approx £300 on my sale to boot. I have a folder containing 130 emails+ that I’ll be citing as part of a massive complaint once this is over if ever is. We have 4 kids who don’t know what to make of this and are under undue stress despite our efforts to keep them upbeat. Soooo in nutshell avoid GB law like the plague unless you enjoy stress, disappointment, being ignored & basically treat like you are inhuman!

We used Gordon Brown Law for the sale of our home. Communication has always been responsive. Craig dealt with our case, and he is now dealing with our house purchase which has been very complicated to say the least. Nevertheless, Craig had always managed our expectations, whilst also working hard to get everything done on time. Thank you Craig, we will speak soon😊
