Reviews Summary

The Desert Botanical Garden has engendered a favorable reputation among its visitors, evidenced by the plethora of positive reviews. Patrons laud the botanical garden for its stunning array of desert flora, informative placards, and opportunities for unique experiences such as butterfly observatories and art exhibits. While the ambiance and scenic beauty of the gardens during different times of the day—especially sunset—are highlighted, visitors are reminded to be mindful of the schedule due to potential section closures for events. Staff and volunteers are commended for their friendliness and helpfulness, enhancing the customer experience. However, concerns about the cost of admission surface recurrently, with some guests suggesting discounts for veterans, and expressing a wish for more accessible ticket pricing or utilization of discount opportunities such as free admission on second Tuesdays or library card benefits.

Beautiful place. Restaurant food is awesome. It's a bit expensive on admissions, though. $24.95. We were not aware that every 2nd Tuesday is free and plan on doing that next time. The restaurant prices are moderate, the service is exceptional and the food quality is absolutely fantastic! By the way, if you just want to take the road trip, drive through, and enjoy the restaurant at the admission gate, just tell them you're going yo the restaurant. You don't have to pay additional fees.

My wife and I came to visit the desert botanical gardens in Phoenix Arizona. First of all if you can visit in the spring that is an incredible time. We went in early March and the weather was simply gorgeous. We followed the path and started with the main entrance followed by the butterfly Mariposa event which showed hundreds of species of various butterflies. If you wait till it gets warmer they will start to land on you. Try to see everything we've listed here on the pictures. Especially the one cactus that has the unique head on it. The story of cabrina the artist is truly inspiring and has a sad story about the car accident he experienced, but how he continued to still find a way to be a great artist and sculptor. The only request I would have asked is for those who have served our country as veterans give them some discount on the ticket. There are no discounts for any reason. Lastly make sure you come prepared with lots of water.

Beautiful collection of cacti and other native plants. Did arrive later than desirable, but sunset was gorgeous, and after light faded, just walking around was nice, though not enough added artifical light to really explore plants. Be mindful of the schedule. One section was closed off just as we exited for an event but other sections still large enough to get lost in :) I will go back next time I'm in Phoenix.
