Reviews Summary

Overall, customer sentiment about Car Giant’s used car dealership in London is mixed, with significant variation in experiences. Reviewers appreciating the company mention well-organised operations, a wide car selection, competitive pricing, and friendly, efficient staff who make the buying process smooth and informative. However, several reviewers detail issues such as receiving vehicles with mechanical faults shortly after purchase and describe aftersales support as lacking in empathy or timely assistance. A recurring frustration is the perceived difficulty with returns and limited support for post-sale problems.

Common feedback includes praise for transparency in vehicle information, freedom to inspect cars, and approachable staff during the sales process. On the other hand, negative themes are prominent: poorly cleaned vehicles at collection, mechanical or electrical failures soon after purchase, and inconvenient or unresponsive customer service. Reviewers also flag concerns with resale values, unresolved technical issues, and restrictions on returns that disrupt customers’ schedules.

In summary, Car Giant’s reputation in London is polarized. The company is frequently recognized for selection and upfront purchase experience, yet suffers from recurring criticism regarding vehicle reliability and aftercare resolution. Trust in the dealership depends heavily on having a trouble-free purchase, as post-sale support is often cited as an area needing significant improvement.

I visited Car Giant around two weeks ago and honestly, everything was amazing. The whole experience—from the wide range of cars to the super helpful and professional staff—was flawless. The process was smooth, fast, and stress-free. I was really impressed by how well-organised everything was. Definitely the best place in London if you’re looking to buy a used car!

Bought a Renault Kadjar, 26,000 miles driven, one owner, full service history. On the day of the test drive, the battery was flat. I was told it was a minor issue and the battery would be replaced. After agreeing to purchase the car that same day, the salesperson, Alan, insisted the car go to the workshop for the battery replacement. I assume he had seen something besides the battery. I had to leave work midday to rush for collection and rush to the post office at my expense to transfer the disabled car tax to private (wasted two hours and taxi fare). After collecting the car, I specifically asked if it needed more fuel; they said no, 3 litres is enough to drive to the nearest petrol station. When I started the car, I saw an indication: key battery low (which they also didn't bother to check). Just after taking the car out of the gate, literally after 5 or 7 seconds, the car showed an engine failure warning and stalled just outside their dealership. I was in a situation where I regretted buying this car and also losing my part-exchange car (imagine the stress!). I got my old car back from them and got the refund. (But what would have happened if this thing had come up just a few hours or the next day? I can't even imagine the stress.) Very unpleasant service with Cargiant. I must request that you all please avoid this company. Save your time and money. Not even worth the hassle.

Very disappointed with my experience at Cargiant. The car developed a serious mechanical fault within 5 days of purchase, clearly showing it was not in satisfactory condition when sold. Cargiant has refused to offer a courtesy car or compensate for the time and effort we've had to spend resolving this issue ourselves. Their support has been minimal, and the handling of our case has been extremely poor. We’re now escalating the matter to Trading Standards under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Misrepresentation Act 1967, and are exploring further action through The Motor Ombudsman. Would not recommend based on the lack of accountability and inadequate aftercare. Update: 26.06.2025 They make it very easy to buy a car — you can purchase on any day throughout the year without any problem. But when it comes to returning a car, they make the process unnecessarily difficult, which clearly feels like a deliberate tactic to put customers off. I’ve bought five cars from Cargiant before and never had any issues with the vehicles. However, now that I’ve had to deal with their customer service, I would never buy from them again. The way this has been handled is honestly shameful. I’ve now been told I have to return the car myself, and only between Monday to Friday. This is incredibly inconvenient as I’ll need to take time off work, costing me both time and money. It’s adding more frustration and expense on top of the hassle I’ve already been through with this faulty vehicle. I would like to know if they can offer a more reasonable solution, such as arranging collection or allowing a weekend return to reduce the impact on my work.
