Extremely disappointing experience on collection day, ruined what should have been an exciting day. ENQUIRY PROCESS / SALE AGREED - Once asked if there was anything I should know about the car which wasn’t advertised on the sale, an electrical fault with a wing mirror following a knock was disclosed. Reassured it would be replaced & fixed prior to collection so no problem. - The finance company was efficient. - I wasn’t going to able to collect the car for 2.5 weeks due to distance & work which they were accommodating to. - I saw on GOV the vehicle had an outstanding recall, Brookmans weren’t aware but agreed to get it sorted before collection which they did. No complaints until collections day… - Text Brookmans when I left with my ETA as the journey was over an hour. 40 mins in to the journey I receive a call saying they thought I wasn’t collecting until tomorrow & realised they had it wrong after looking through WhatsApp messages confirming the collection date. This wouldn’t usually of been much of an issue however the electrical fault on the wing mirror still hadn’t been fixed. It was apparently booked in to the garage to get sorted that day, which I thought was last minute seeing as they had 2.5 weeks to sort it & booked it in the day before they thought I was collecting (they confirmed to me a week before this that they had received the part). Jamie rushed it straight to the garage to see if they could get it done ASAP, which they where luckily able to do however, I had to wait around the area for 3 hours which meant I had to rearrange a meeting & childcare for the afternoon. - Upon signing the documents it was then discovered they weren’t in possession of the V5. Apparently this is extremely common for Brookmans to sell cars without a V5 as they just apply for a V62 but this means I wouldn’t receive a V5 for a month. After getting Brookmans to contact the main dealer they got the car from to confirm the reason why the car had no V5 when they bought it, I agreed to proceed on the basis Brookmans emailed me confirming my legal purchase of the vehicle & the reason why I didn’t receive a V5 on purchase. I thought this was poor practice as it is information I would have wanted to be informed of prior to agreeing the sale. - After signing everything, I went down to the car to get myself set up, only to discover that not only hadn’t the car been cleaned, the ambient lighting in the car was broken & so was the apple car play port. These were 2 of the main selling points for me so you can imagine my further disappointment. St this point I asked if they even checked this car worked before they put it up for sale & I was told they check the mechanical stuff but they don’t test to see if the inside of the car works, ie the electrical elements. Give it to Jamie he tried his best to give me a resolution however the options were either I drive the car back to them on another date to get the issues fixed or I get a quote from a local garage which they’d cover, but if they could get it done for cheaper I’d have to drive it back to them to get it done anyway & as it was over an hour away it wasn’t ideal. At that point it had just been one thing after another, I felt like I’d been miss sold a car & had my time wasted. Luckily I discovered this all before driving the car away as I was able to get my paper work cancelled before they fully processed it. Jamie was a lovely person but personally I felt the company was sloppy, the cars clearly aren’t vetted properly & there isn’t much care in the sale, especially not the type of care you’d expect when buying a Mercedes. I definitely won’t be rushing back.

Just bought a second car from these guys. As usual impeccable service all round. This one had a small problem after collection. Fixed immediately without question. This is how car dealers should be. Our thanks to Jamie and Dave for all your help.
