Patryk Gacek rated Big Motoring World Cannock 1 stars

I bought a 2018 Hyundai Kona Premium from the Cannock branch in November 2024, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing from start to finish.
The advisor I dealt with was extremely unprofessional. He repeatedly left us without explanation — disappearing about four times for 20–30 minutes each, while other advisors around us were actively helping multiple customers. He didn’t update us, offer any refreshments, or show much interest in assisting. Despite me expressing strong interest in the car, he was reluctant to even show it to us. He spent more time chatting and laughing with his colleagues than helping us, and overall the experience dragged on for over five hours, with most of that time spent just waiting.
Throughout the process, he kept pushing for me to buy additional cover options, even though I had clearly said I only wanted the car itself. I also asked about the service history, and he reassured me that it had full service history. But after the purchase, I discovered it only has partial history. When I asked to see documentation, he simply pointed to the website — which conveniently no longer showed that information after I had signed.
As a first-time buyer, I wasn’t aware I could ask to see the service book or manual, and I feel misled and taken advantage of.
To make matters worse, within a week of owning the car, the engine warning light came on. A mechanic found a P0420 error code related to the catalytic converter. Big Motoring World gave me an inspection appointment a month and a half later. When they finally looked at it, they claimed it was just a sensor, and scheduled a fix for another month and a half later.
Now, over three months later, the issue still doesn’t feel resolved. The car’s MPG is still unusually low, and the start-stop system doesn’t work, even after long motorway drives. At the start, the car would easily reach 50 MPG on motorways, so something is clearly not right. But trying to diagnose it again would mean more time, stress, and money.
Overall, I had a poor experience, felt misled during the sale, and the post-purchase support has been slow and unsatisfactory. I wouldn’t recommend this dealership based on how I was treated and the issues I’ve had with the car.
