Reviews Summary

The prevailing customer sentiment towards Aston Hall is largely reflective of a blend of admiration for its historic charm and architectural grandeur with slight dissatisfaction regarding operational aspects. Reviewers are consistently captivated by the Jacobean house's historical details and the visible remnants of its past, such as damage from a Civil War cannonball, enhancing its atmospheric allure. The gardens, despite their small size, also contribute positively to the overall experience. However, there are mixed feelings about the amenities; the cafe is mentioned for its limited food options. Furthermore, some visitors experienced inconveniences such as unexpected opening hours, which led to minor discontent. The insights into the mansion's history seem to resonate well with visitors, with particular praise for the informative staff and the integration of technology through QR codes that enrich the tour experience.

Beautiful Jacobean house full of historical detail. The part played in the civil war by the hall is fascinating. The damage to the stair bannister caused by a cannonball can still be seen. The long gallery was very atmospheric. It is easy to understand why some folk believe this to be the most haunted Hall in the UK. The gardens were small but interesting. The cafe had a limited supply of food (no sandwiches just chocolate bars) so eat elsewhere before or after your visit.

A most unexpected visit. Considering it's age and especially location, they've done extremely well to retain and maintain the building being council owned. A lack of furniture is a shame but it heightens your experience of the architecture. Beautiful workmanship inside and out. At least I now know why the football ground's home end is called the Holte End.

Beautiful mansion, with selection of historic interiors from different periods (XVII-XIX centuries), including kitchen and servants' areas. Characteristic smell - aged wood and museum dust, some may love it, some may hate it 🙂🙃 but definitely worth visiting.
